Doesn’t Rui have an Akita? We can start a dog breeding business and for 100k, Rui will name your puppy for you. Totally legal.
Beautiful dogs! We had 3 in succession. Used to see others once in a while being walked but much less often now.
https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...ers-rui-hachimura-contract-year-nba-media-day the article is about how this isn't a distraction, but it is. guessing it's been made clear to him that unless he wants a below market deal, we're not talking extension.
Some of Rui’s value comes in being an expiring. Let’s say Giannis gets traded to the Knicks for Hart and OG plus firsts. We could theoretically trade Rui & Kleber/Gabe to MIL plus a first for OG. It’s not a bad outcome for the bucks they get to get out of salary and get an additional first. As an aside I wouldn’t mind getting Hart, he is a solid defender, great rebounder, super hard working guy. It’s a shame his shot never became consistently good. Also Knicks with Giannis are a real problem. Brunson, Bridges, Giannis, KAT is a really good core with McBride, Clarkson, Brogdon, Yabusele and Robinson on the bench. They’re probably down one wing to spell Bridges and Giannis in the playoffs.
agree except i'd actually target bridges over anunoby. but i'd take either. also agree that hart would interest me. i think he can defend POA, and his lack of a shot doesn't bother me too much. he's a gamer, imo. in retrospect, i wish we'd moved kuz for AD instead of hart.
Wish we kept Caruso and Hart. I'm sure Pelicans valued Kuzma more than they did Hart. Same with the Lakers. But guys like Caruso and Hart are where you win championships. Hart is one of the most underrated players in the entirety of the NBA. Just a winning player. Reminds me a lot of Iguodala. Durable as a rock. It's criminal how underpaid Hart is.
Bridges has a 10m lower salary slot so they’d have to give up another piece for Giannis. And OG and Giannis play in similar areas so they’ll get rid of him. I’d prefer bridges over him to at this moment. But I think Hart woukd be a handy pickup. It’s a shame he is already 30/31
I also love Hart but am worried about his longevity. That guy hits the floor hard like 6 times a game. I think the Knicks are going to start Robinson and KAT together and play Hart as a 6th man, which I think is ideal for him. I like that Knicks team, I hope they make the Finals.
He looked good tonight. He'll be our starting 4, and I'm fine with that. I think he'll fit well next to Ayton, Reaves, & Luka.
Just a gut impression watching him last night and agreeing with you abeer on his shooting (Wow) .... like AR you can see already Rui has improved again this year from last season. This is going to be a player I think we would be sorry in the prime of his career, which he's really starting now, to see on some other team.
His shot looks really good. I'm not sure if it compensates for his lack of defense with this particular Lakers group.
yeah, and he's not a great passer. but he's a play finisher inside (surprisingly good off ball cutter, imo) and out (the catch and shoot). add that you can't put a small on him because he has very respectable post/midrange game against lesser defenders, and you have a guy who's a good complement to virtuoso playmakers. but yeah, the defense and rebounding just aren't quite where you want them. he's improving there, just like in other areas, though. going forward it will be about price, fit, and alternatives. i could see worlds where he's the starting forward next to luka, but that requires the addition of significant perimeter athleticism in that 5th starter spot.
Rui’s defense is average. But his rebounding is poor for someone of his size. If he was a good rebounder, we’d be a better team. It’s probably what’s going to end his LA tenure.
Rui’s my guy, but I go back to Darvin Ham here, and say once again, he should be coming off the bench, not starting. 1 reb in 30 min isn't going to cut it, especially without Lebron. James doesn't get enough credit for his board work IMO. I understand the hops and lateral quickness aren't quite there, with Rui on D, but he doesn't get after the boards like he should either IMO. It's a bit of a "want to" type of thing too. He was asked after the Minnesota series, what did he think the team needed moving forward. His answer was a big that can rebound, I didn't like that answer, he's 6'8, I wanted to hear him say, " I need to step up, and do a better job on the boards!" Let's go Yasuke!!!!
