KCP in the playoffs, 28 mpg, 10ppg, 44% FG%, 42% 3FG (32/76 from 3)... 1st round vs Blazers 40.6% from 3, 2nd round vs Rockets 42% from 3, WCF vs Nuggets 44% from 3. Not bad for $8 mil a year. I didn't like the guy the last few years but I was ok with him returning at $8mil/ a year. Considering all the injuries the Lakers have faced the last few years this guy has been really durable. Only missed 2 games in 2019/2020. Good return on this investment this year.
Need to change title of thread now - Murray was PHENOMENAL but KCP did his best to slow him down and make it tough and actually wore him down I feel. On top of that, he hit clutch shots for us and spread the floor. BTW he's only 27.
Excellent start from KCP was vital. Yeah we end up winning in a blowout, but I think the entire dynamic of the game could have changed if KCP doesn’t hit some of those first quarter shots. Quickly chipping into that 13 point lead made us snap out of our funk. If we miss those shots and Miami ends up stretching the lead a bit and maintaining it for a few more minutes, that gives them more confidence and momentum.
He missed 7 of his 10 shots, but those early bucket...he hit double digits early, turned the momentum in our favor after MIA's quick start.
KCP is playing with the regularity swiss clock precision we expected of veteran "Damn it" Danny Green. Feel confident in his threes and Kobe lite jumper in the paint. Feel like all his shots will hit the twine as they fall in a high arc like "Mana from heaven" Showed a huge improvement from the "headless chicken" days of yore.
Stay away from Green, he's rubbing off on you. 2-11 from 3. He's been very good excluding tonight, so I'll give him a pass. But maybe let's be aware of when it's not your night next time and shane it up a little.
I didn’t realize he was shooting as badly as he was. He definitely didn’t have a good game, but it was better than you’d expect from a 2-11 from three shooting performance. 11,4, and 4. Highest +/- on either team.
Dove for a loose ball to trigger a break for a score. Drew a foul on a trey attempt canned them all. Little stuff counts.
Awful shooting night for the first time in a loooong time, but did plenty of other good things to contribute to the win. So he gets a pass in my book. Now Danny Green . . . That’s a different story.
He is very streaky. But I like how he plays and am looking forward to having him on the team next season.
100% the game ball goes to KCP. That corner three to put us up five gave us enough of a cushion to do what we needed to do. KAY CEE PEE!!!!!!!
