We've all wanted a big that play defense and score points And here he it Good to see DA motivated Now he needs to keep it up for the rest of the season Happy for him and for the Lakers
He’s at the top of the league so far in setting screens while giving you 70% of AD’s defense and securing lots of rebounds. We couldn’t really ask for more… the fact that he has an offensive game really positions him as an ideal role playing starting center for this team. He doesn’t need to be a star, just needs to play his role.
At this rate, we will be getting "the league rigged him to the Lakers" takes on social media well before Thanksgiving.
Still dropping easy passes in the post that hit him in the hands. We needed much more out of him when short handed.
Yep but he's just not the guy to do it. He's an absolute solid to better NBA starting center but he's not going to be a star who you can depend on a night to night basis. He actually seems more consistent then Rui at least in the non-scoring aspects of the game. That still means even last night he was a better center then Clingan or Yang pretty easily. Just a big difference for the Lakers to have a positive at the position when it was such a hole since original bubble Dwight left
He still needs to get more than 8 rebounds when we're shorthanded though. He's averaged 10+ every year of his career, so he can do it and needs to focus on that like he did the previous game. This was a back to back, so that affects it, but the 6 & 8 rebounds in the 1st 2 games of the season are unacceptable.
Agreed, I will say that I am really liking what I'm seeing from DA overall. He couldn't be in a better position to succeed than sharing the court with either Luka, Austin or both. Hopefully he takes advantage of his opportunity.
He's won every center matchup except the first one against Draymond. He played well in the 4th of that one too. Bobbled some balls but man that flip shot he can make off as the roll man just has completely changed the Laker offense this year. I think he's the only who made a shot to finish that game till the AR winner.
Great game by Ayton tonight. I love the chemistry he has with Reaves. Those passes below his hips really scare me, though. He always fumbles them.
