He says a lot of nothing; the only thing to really take for me is expanding the FO. Definitely didn't come from Rob. Rob try to say, "oh, it isn't like we didn't have those positions before, we're just in the process of renovating our FO..." or some sh** like that. Essentially, one of the jobs sounds like Jesse's as Trevor Lane pointed out & the other is a newly created position , which they should have had.

Funny guy. Big summer. Put up or shut up.

Strange to relocate the G-League facility way out to Coachella. I see zero advantages to this other than them being able to build a less expensive, new facility even though they already have a very good one.
    Strange.

Much bigger seating capacity and money from tickets is my guess? My first thought was brutal drive back and forth for 2-way players putting in work both teams when in town. Or that dual work gets reduced.

This is actually a good answer IMO and I agree with his take when it’s put this way, rare expanded answer from him. We still need to hit in other areas with the draft that we haven’t been though, JHS and Dalton were both misses and it’s really contributed to hurting us in the depth department

it's the right answer, and exactly what some of us have said to the "rob y u no presti" stuff over the years. the gm job here isn't the gm job in detroit or SA or okc. presti would have probably gotten fired here for signing isaiah joe and aaron wiggins to overmarket contracts while we were losing 50-60 games a year, lol.

what rob left out of the answer--and we'll see if he actually has one--is how you actually accomplish it. in other words, my favorite ray zelensky quote:

so yeah, we have the "win-now" mindset at all times. and we DO have a top-5 player in his prime, which is definitely the hardest part. how do you completely rebuild the team in a totally different way than you had been working toward for several years, and do so in basically 18 months?* the short answer is "you don't", but rob can't say that.

anyway, this is definitely rob's moment. i think his job this summer is incredibly difficult, needle-threading stuff. and i think what he's able to do or not do between june and august this year will determine whether he continues in the job going forward. good luck, buddy, you'll need it!

*all while navigating the absolutely treacherous territory of a sunsetting superstar, i might add
