I just don’t want him and Jeanie leading anything. My hope is Walter leading it, and putting a staff around that is super competent, I just don’t trust Rob being the final say guy. Maybe the other added minds in the room can report back to Walter how good or not good he is at his job, there’s been zero accountability for him to this point, and there needs to be.

as we've been over, i'm not as worried about rob being the decision maker. i've never liked the idea of him doing it all by himself, though. pretty much nobody does that. and if the response is that we have the rambis braintrust, that's worse. it's insular, which can lead to groupthink and poor decisions (or at least decisions that are as bad as if one person makes them alone).

i'll be watching closely to see who we hire. if we don't bring in some bona fide front office folks from elsewhere, i'll be annoyed. walter's money is supposed to help with this exact kind of thing.

Yes, this. This is the main thing I’ve wanted changed all along, if Rob stays, just change this at least. I just personally think Rob and the rambii like things how they are, if there’s no accountability you don’t have to really ever change what you’re doing and you can’t be fired. That’s just the impression I get based on evidence, articles, rumors, these people like running the org like kings and queens and have no desire to cede any power.

Magic was awful, so it wasn’t a big loss, but Rob clearly pushed him out, and to me that says he wanted to be in full control of this thing and maybe isn’t super trustworthy. That’s part of why I could see this getting messy depending who is brought in, people in complete power don’t always like to share it, and if they don’t bring in people with strong enough voices or enough authority, not much will change. I’m just not sure he’s that guy, that collaborative guy, I guess we’ll see in time. That said, I also don’t see the point in hanging onto him when Walter has like unlimited money, just go poach the best out there, why waste more time seeing if Rob is the guy. I dunno, that’s just my take.
