I’m just hoping they don’t include our boy as a throw in in the inevitable trade

Really? We’re now resorting to the equivalent of, “I know you are but what am I.”

I’m just so darn angry that I’m going to completely move on and talk basketball with adults.

You couldn’t debate any substance, so you troll.

Now you’ll post one more childish jab because you believe that getting the last word means you’ve “won.”

You win, I know when I'm outclassed. You are way better at the childish jabs than me. I can send you a genuine moose nugget necklace for a prize. They are kind of like those old-style candy ones...lol.

He’s far better than LeBron on offense? Okay, this is when I exit this debate.

Dang man, I'm p@%@*?# off everybody. Serious question for all the LeBron people. Why is even a mention of him not still being a great player so offensive? If he can be your 2nd or 3rd guy at his age is still pretty good. With AD, LeBron is still out second best guy, we add a third star and he is still number three, nothing wrong with that.

Dude, I’m neither pissed nor a LeBron fanboy, but he had an exceptional year on offense.
I’m just not a believer in small guards leading a team all the way. Allen Iverson came close, but he was much, much better than Trae and at least competed on defense.
Don’t stop me from wanting him on the Lakers.
    I just don’t.

AD would still be leading us. Thanks for the reply.

Toklat maybe you missed my reply to you saying this:

    Toklat said:
The main issue I have with all this is that it is irritating watching AD'S prime wasted while we cater to someone like, LeBron. Very good post.

    Can you explain please?

Atlanta can barely make the playoffs being lead by Trae. Look how Orlando and Indiana quickly got there. And he's been having an okay supporting cast with Capela, Collins, Bogdan, Hunter and lately Dejounte. He just sucks

If we decide to go the Trae Young route, does that mean HillBilly Kobe is on the move? I'd think you need more defense in the backcourt.

Trae can super saiyan in the playoffs like a rich man’s Murray but he is often injured and too small

he could be very interesting, but the size and lack of defense would be demoralizing.

With Bron not playing D and him, you really have to have solid 3 at the 3 other positions. I'd have to lose Reaves, but don't see how those two fit unless the goal is to just outscore people. (I mean that's always the goal, but along with not playing D like a Mike Dan Tony team)

100%, LeBron being so limited on defense does make it hard to fit anyone with him. Exactly why we need a strong minded coach like Sam Cassell. LeBron is a great basketball mind as well but like most great players he can't accept his own limitations as he has aged. Sam could scheme to somewhat hide LeBron's deficiencies and take advantages of his strengths. In limited minutes LeBron can still be a decent offball helper. Ham did have one good idea, to limit LeBron's minutes, rumor has it, LeBron overrode that. Say we can land DM, LeBron only needs to play 25-28 minutes. More than that he gets tired and stops playing any defense at all. Plus minutes can be staggered so that we can have a less than stellar defensive point guard without AD having to cover for two limited defenders for long stretches. A mobile big to help AD would be great as well. With LeBron as our third best player and fresh for the playoffs, we get the 4-5 seed and a shot at a championship run. We would rely on offense more than I like but resigning LeBron will come with sacrifices. You can't have your LeCake and eat it too.

I don't think any of the top scoring guards in the league, are playing any defense. The high end guys are simply more consistent scoring. If Russell and Reaves could be counted on, to the score the ball, at a consistent clip in the playoffs, we wouldn't have a problem.

I'm honestly higher on Trae than most partially based on what you are saying. His defense is definitely a legit concern but the bigger thing there for me is just his salary. Much rather have Mitchell if we are going all in but I've never hated the idea of Trae on this team.

Trae had a stated goal coming into the league of leading the league in points and assists. Not sure if that has changed, but that's an interesting fit with two other 3rd team All NBA players. Especially if that means he can't be bothered with defense.

Trae can score and pass but he's a small guy. I think he can put in more effort on defense but will never be great on that end.
