Luka Doncic Discussion: Signing 4 Year Extension!

Luka recruiting Smart to the Lakers definitely eased any concerns I had about him staying with us long term. You don’t recruit for a franchise if you are not planning to stay with them for the long haul.

 

Safe to say that all the vapors about dfs leaving making Luka leave were…f***ing ridiculous?

really thinking/hoping he's ready to go scorched earth in all ways because of all the disrespect. the undeserved fan/media thrashing after dragging a team to the finals and failing to beat a superior team, followed by a trade, followed by even more discussion of his imminent demise due to morbid obesity...maybe it flipped a switch.

Curious why the thread title has changed? Besides this tweet, I haven't seen a report confirming that he's coming back to sign a Lakers extension. I read somewhere about Stein reporting that he's coming back for something to promote the Jordan brand. I'm not worried long term, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't sign the extension and waits until next year. Feel like some people want to make it feel like a lock so when he decides to wait they can say, "OH NOEZ." Hope I'm wrong because it's a lower salary hit if he does it now.

 

it's because he's interrupted his national team schedule to travel here, presumably to sign the contract. he hasn't signed yet, but he will. the only question is the structure, which should just be the 2+1. other structures would be interesting, but not worrisome. the only worrisome choice would be no contract, which would surprise me for many reasons.

 

I hear that, but I guess i'm not prepared to fully believe that's the reason for the travel until it happens. Until it comes from Shams, I'm not holding my breath. Again, not at all worried he won't be with the Lakers for years.
