I remember seeing Bryon Russell at Legoland (was my first job) and thinking his calves were massive! And then thinking if that was Russell what the heck does Malone look like in person! Made me think twice about even wanting to play college ball lol

You know, this kid is pretty good. If he keeps trending in this direction, he could become a solid rotation piece1!!

 

Luka is showing his commitment to the franchise by getting in shape. Now we need Rob to reward Luka by giving him the roster he needs this offseason.

 

Nice- I used to live 10 minutes from Legoland and had a gig for a few years in that business complex adjacent to it.

 

I saw Malone at Fashion Island(Newport Beach) around 2005. He was still pretty big.

 

We will have a couple good new pieces, but Rob ain’t going to completely fix this roster in one summer- it’s just not possible.

 

It’s what he gets paid to do. You don’t need a perfect roster to win a ring.

You get a legit big man and some good depth pieces and all of a sudden this team is in a position to compete for a title.

 

yup. you need perfect health and some continuity in system/personnel. you can't do much about the former, but you can work on the latter and keep yourself ready.

the luka trade changed the entire philosophy, imo. so the early playoff exit was not at all surprising. we can make some small strides to get to contention level, then hope for some breaks. we're not ready to be in stack-the-deck mode, and i'm not entirely sure the new cba is friendly to that, anyway.

let's just get the lakers back in the perennial conversation.

 

Yeah, of course he gets paid to do it, but have you seen the depth of Minny, Indiana, and OKC? There’s no way Rob can come close to that many good players with very little tradeable assets in one summer.
I’m a realist and I know that Championship squads aren’t built overnight.
