Lakers VS Slippers Discussion

I think no one wants to resolve, it's not only Silver.
I'm pretty sure these type of deals happen all the time, maybe not so big but they do. They're all business man with a lot of business ventures, players more and more are doing more than playing basketball, even during their careers.
The business world works a lot through connections and be it advertising deals, shoe deals, media, real estate, etc, I believe players, especially the big names, use their leverage when negotiation and signing big contracts to try and get additional sources of revenue (either fake ones or overvalued ones) , especially if they agree at lower salary values to fit the cap mechanics.
So from players to owners and the league, no one really wants to solve this because it sets a precedent that will be hard to manage moving forward as more cases could come to light.
Don't take me wrong, this is absolutely illegal and shouldn't happen, but I think it's naive to think this is the first time it happens.

It's a really tough one and I don't think there will be harsh penalties for either Kawhi or the Clippers

 

But there has to be some freaking logical pretense and follow through for the money handed out, and Leonard as a spokesperson making 5x the money of legit (media) stars when he's been an absolute zero in that regard with his personality can't even sniff the "logical" bar.

 

If Stern still would be commissioner Clippers would be banned from playing street basketball in Van Nuys lol
