Rumors today are that D Wade will be bought out and it's between us and Miami. I don't want him, but if he comes, that's one more piece in our favor for Bron coming.
How does that rotation work at the 2 then?? Everyone thinks their on the starting rotation stand up. Whoa whoa not so fast Pope. Or not so fast Wade?
I predict Wade plays 50-60 games this year. I think we need to be looking a different direction if we even fill our last roster spot. I just don't see it. I don't see him getting a lot of offers their or unless he wants to change his role and go somewhere cheap. Everyone has mostly penciled in their starting lineups.
If Wade gets bought out, he's going to the Cavs. Lakers could be an option next year if Lebron comes here, but why waste a year here when he could play for another ring in Cleveland? Lebron already has a spy here to survey the situation in KCP. Unless of course Wade is fighting for room with Windhorst in between Lebron's butt cheeks, so he comes here because Lebron wants a second spy.
I could see Wade coming here. I doubt he wants to be perceived as following LLLLLeBron around like a puppy dog. If he's here first the narrative changes and it also gives him a full season to influence the team culture before theKang arrives.
If DWade comes you start him at #2 guard and make KCP the 6th man with starters minutes behind Wade and BI. Move Clarkson behind Lonzo.
In a contract year and certainly not what he was sold, doubt that makes KCP happy. But I guess all you can do. Doesn't that make our D on the perimeter against starters horrible again if we are trying to WIN games this year to be a viable destination? Or is Wade reasonably "decent" on D still? Or ever? He surely would not be taking the tough PG assignments for Lonzo though.
Put him where we need to. If he says "I'll play for 4 million, but only as a starter", we'll have to figure it out. I can't imagine KCP would be terribly insulted by being the 6th man on that team. I'd still ask Wade if he's open to being 6th man too if we guarantee him a certain number of minutes per game. Hell the reality is if KCP wants to stay here next season, he needs to be a 6th man anyway. He's not starting over Ingram, George, or if we're lucky LeBron. If Wade was willing to come here for 4 million, I'd also look into trading Clarkson right now.
Part of me really believes that the NBA has taken a page from the fight game and WWE. They seem to be manufacturing drama in order to sell tickets.
Well he was asking for it, i know gm play and stats suggest his "max" pay demands but no way can any gm/ownership feel comfortable giving a max deal to a such a diminutive player that plays no D, even if he tries it isnt effective and would turn 30 over the course of the life of the contract
Kyrie on the budding C Bags. Lebron to the Lakers, with George in tail after the whole Pacer garbage, on an up and coming Laker's squad featuring what could be the NBA's new media darling, Zo. 2018 is primed.
Whatever the f*** is really going on.. Seems like as Lakers fans we can enjoy trying to over reach and get as many Ws as possible cause there's hella smoke showing we atleast got George in the bag..and after my Thomas comment, seems like Cleveland is setup for a make or legitimately break up the whole f***ing show then Lebron coming and Thomas probably going to the highest bidder. Hell yeah! Lol.
I agree with everything but the Clarkson bit. He's still our best backup pg option behind Lonzo. KCP isn't going to be able to step into that role, nor is Wade. I'm sort of in the camp now of hold onto Clarkson this season and move him before free agency. We want to win this season. No pick to tank for. He's one of the few players on our roster that we can expect to get league average or even above league average production given his position (6th/7th man).
We'd have to end up cutting someone and I'm not sure who that would be. Ennis I suppose. Clarkson is a terrible backup PG. He plays with his head down so often you could play the sad Charlie Brown music behind him. Lonzo/Clarkson Wade/Pope is a pretty interesting lineup though. A lot of versatility, a lot of energy, and more than anything a lot of athleticism. I could dig it.
