As great as LBJ is.. I just don't want him anywhere near this Lakers Team. I don't care if he automatically makes us a Playoff Team. His Ego & his Brand would overshadow everything.. No thank you. If he was a Humble, cool dude, that would be different. LeBron brags about himself even when he's trying to be humble.. Always speaking in the first person.. "Me" "I" "My", etc..
Just doesn't wanna piss people off while trying to cover the story IMO. So hes been low key selfish at times... If the selfish girl came along and wanted to be on your team, just have fun and enjoy the ride cause its not like you're obligated to get her pregnant and marry her lol.
I know there was question about stretching Deng and what we can do to get PG/LBJ + Lopez or KCP..... Lonzo (7.5) Clarkson (12.5) / Hart (1.7) Ingram (5.8) / Nance (2.3) / Kuzma (1.7) Zu (1.5) / Bryant (1) + Randle cap hold (12.6) + Deng stretch (7.4) + 3 cap holds (2.4) Total - 56.4 million - Sign PG13- 32.1 million Total - 87.7 million - Sign one of KCP, Lopez, Wade - 16 million Total - 102.9 million - Sign and trade Randle + Clarkson for LBJ at 35.6 million Total - 114.2 Lonzo (7.5) / Ingram (5.8) / Hart (1.7) PG13 (32.1) / Kuzma (1.7) LBJ (35.6) / Nance (2.3) Lopez (16) / Zu (1.5) / Bryant (1) + 2 cap holds + Deng (7.4) -
Big years for Zu and Bryant...my gut says i want that dog in KCP for D purposes. I think well have enough fire power to move on from Lopez. I mean effing Pachulia started for the Warriors before they go small...
Going back to the previous page, if Lebron comes to us (be it trade or free agency), I don't think he's going to be a prima donna and force roster moves. He's going to be 33 this year, 34 if we sign him outright in 2018. He's got at best, 1 or 2 more years of prime basketball left. So he's in no position to dictate anything. I see more "Shaq in Miami" role more than anything.
I think hell have trust in Magic and Magic will make damn sure to communicate well and go about things the right way. Plus Lebron will be able to relate to Magic..Itll work just fine boys. Dont sweat the small ish. Never let your pride get in the way of the big goal especially if you got to swallow your pride for a short time frame.
My fear is he'd be more motivated than ever to dictate things. Last chance to win a title before his body gives out on him, he'll want every player possible around him that helps him win. My fear isn't that he wants to play with Lonzo and Ingram, but that he sees them as Wiggins-like trade pieces to make this roster his. My ultimate fear is we do trade that future we suffered to get, LeBron gets his roster, we still don't win a title, he leaves, we are a smoldering crater like the Cavs were after "The Decision", we have to start from scratch all over again. I'm not letting LeBron in here if it means goodbye to Ingram and Ball.
I see no reason so far to believe that Magic Johnson and Rob and Luke would be that stupid. Game knows game and Magic is right there on the floor working with and looking at our best young talent. They know how hard it was to come by. Plus Magic investing himself in working with Ingram and counseling him and of course Lonzo. Those two for sure untouchable. But I just don't see them letting LeBron dictate anything. I hope they view Paul George as the more valuable cornerstone of our franchise going forward than LBJ.
Exactly. LLLLLabron does 1 year contracts with a no trade clause so that he can hold his team hostage if they don't do what he wants. Of course he'd do the same on the Lakers.
It's not a matter of being stupid. It's about seeing that championship trophy within reach, getting that gold shining in your eye, seeing us passing the C Bags in titles and going for it, mortgaging the future to do. LeBron starts whispering behind closed doors, I need this guy or that guy to win.. Mitch did it with Nash, and he and Jim were prepared to do so again for Cousins before they got fired. Anyone can fall victim to this, especially with a guy as crafty as LeBron, even Magic and Rob.
Magic is an uber successful businessman and one of smartest players to ever play the game of basketball. Just don't see them being blinded then as you say and blowing up our most talented youth for a too early against all odds shot, and mortgaging our future. Agree to disagree.
I don't believe Magic and Rob let LeBron mess with their two golden eggs. In fact of those golden eggs don't look like all-stars, LeBron isn't coming and if they do look like all-stars why would he want them traded? I do want to reiterate even though it's in the wrong thread: Paul George would look incredible in this offense. I mean genuinely he may be an MVP. He's best coming off screens, he's an incredible catch and shoot three point maker, and he's capable of making plays off the catch to others. Not to mention he'd have the ability to switch everything defensively on the wing... He's a perfect fit. LeBron would view George as his new sidekick and the rest as the role players that make it work. Eventually those role players would be better than him and as LeBron fades out our young core is ready to dominate. Honestly I'm so confident in the future that if LeBron never got here but George did, I think we're contenders within 3 years. So when LeBron comes knocking we welcome him in, but I'm not destroying everything to get him.
We'll see. Right now this is just an idea, and we need Ingram and Ball to look better as a franchise. But when this becomes real next offseason, we will see how much hardball Magic and Rob are actually able to play when faced with the decision of landing the stars they crave vs possibly mortgaging the future and sending off young players they love. They've set themselves up for home run or fail, and if it comes down to refusing to part with some 20 year olds to not fail..I dunno man...
Well who are the "stars" besides PG who we expect here (hope hope hope hope) and Ingram and Ball that have brighter futures out there especially at their cap holds, that we could bring in? There aren't any.
Or on the other hand, he comes here with George realizing the point in his career he's at. He lets Magic and Rob run the show (after all, he's only coming if he trusts their pitch anyways). Lebron plays as the elite glue guy who generally leads the team but let's Lonzo do most of the ball handling and George do most of the scoring. We win a 'ship or two which helps Lonzo and Ingram get to an even higher level. Then Lebron retires and hands the keys to George who continues leading us to championship contention before eventually handing the keys himself to Lonzo and Ingram who have now tapped more of their potential than we thought possible because of their experience playing winning basketball alongside one of the greatest players. Along the way we win multiple championships and maybe even see all 4 of Lebron, George, Ingram, and Lonzo having MVP caliber seasons for us at different points in time over the next decade. Probably too optimistic of a prediction but I think your feared scenario is a little too pessimistic. I think the control Lebron had in Cleveland is being overstated. Cleveland made the moves that any team would make after acquiring the best player in the league in his prime. And they were in a position to three-peat if things just went a little differently, so I can't really blame them.
LBJ never had someone with the star power that could eclipse his ... Magic enters. LBJ won't be dictating anything to Magic. If anything it will be more of a consensus and not LBJ strong arming Magic and Rob into signing fringe players to big deals like a Tristan Thompson
You cant combine players in a s&t, n also i think your scenario is pushing us pass the legal threshold when doing a snt
