we'll see. brown looked pretty bad away from jokic. we don't know if doncic would have had the same effect...or if jokic will again (though i think he will).

very bad. best player to change teams via FA is NAW. actually, tbh, if we get ayton, it will be him.

yeah, it's an unpleasant feeling, but i'm not sure it makes sense to even have a reaction until the dust settles more. if the week ends, and we're sitting here having traded DFS for laravia whilst sitting here without a POA defender or starting center, then yes, major concerns brewing.

Do you NOT think he's a bigger, stronger, smarter player to replace DK who many of us until yesterday were still loathe to do because of how beautifully he shoots the deep ball? And who Cranjis buried the headline on saving it for last, or just stumbled on it last with his player analysis posts you found ..... THIS wasn't an area of need?

I like Larivia. Looked like a baller every time I watched him on Memphis. Another one of those Grizzlies finds

He has a little feistiness to his game like the typical Grizzlies player they go after

Decent signing. The shot quality will go up and hopefully all the percentages go along with that. Big body, not the greatest wingspan, but he has some skill. I think he'll be fine.

I kid you not this KID .... it's no wonder Lakers targeted him. Even on LG the knee jerk plodding white guy what are we doing stupid Rob Pelinka comments are dying down and getting SHOT down as more and more people are opening their eyes and looking at tape. I have even seen a few comments now noticing the similarities to AR's game (and Luka's since AR plays like Luka lite) ....that I commented on yesterday after only 7-8 minutes into the long clip I posted a couple pages back .... in how he handles the ball, attacks closeouts and hoop IQ ..... them saying he's like a bigger version somewhat of AR. As per the loss of DFS .... stop freaking out over that! THIS year, not next year or the year after ..... Jake and Adou will have that perimeter D on Big wings covered just fine, with Jake also being a multi-faceted threat on offense with more than just that gorgeous 3 ball up in DK's zip code. Check out this clip of him on defense.

As well read the comments from Memphis fans when asked from a Kings fan after the trade last year if he's any good.

    :Magicwow4:

Just a kings fan asking what I can expect out of Jake LaRavia. Can he be a solid backup.

He's all heart. Good Shooter, great motor. Gonna miss the guy, but we're heavy on wings

Last year I'd have said no, this year absolutely. We just have guys with higher ceilings that are under contract. He's been having his best season since he turned pro

You’ll love him. Great glue guy, solid at pretty much everything ( connective passing, hustling for rebounds, etc) and a good shooter. He’s been pretty consistent regardless of his minute load this year and has made some big time plays that have saved games. If we hadn’t declined his option this year before he really blossomed, there’s a high chance we would have kept him.

I’ve seen people talking about Jake as “a good depth piece”. That was for our team. For the Kings, he’s gonna be 7th guy on your team (9th at absolute worst). He plays defense and shoots the 3, plus he plays hard so he’s just what you need. Source: been following the Kings and Pacers since the Halliburton-Sabonis trade

We were to deep to give him minutes. On the Kings, he should get about 15-20 minutes a night

You’re going to get every ounce of that kids soul, every play, every night. He never stops moving, plays HARD on defense, and can shoot pretty well. He will go to the floor for a loose ball and fight for your team. He’s a great teammate and isn’t selfish.

I thought Jake developed real nicely while he was here. I actually wasn’t sure at first. I think he benefited from a few guys being out this year. Great community guy, especially in the sports card scene. Seeing him play at the forum you gotta feel for how big he was. He definitely could have a long NBA career. Maybe we get him back someday.

His contract is under $5mill I think. You'll get far more value out of him than that. Turns out he's a good player, we just didn't take his option cos he was below average last couple of seasons

If he’s good for yall don’t expect to be able to keep him unfortunately. Because we turned down his team option in like November, you guys will be able to offer a max of 1 year 5 mil

Great at attacking the rim and getting to the FT line. It’s either foul him or he scores

Great hustle player who can shoot. Wish we had picked up his option but happy he has a chance to get a bag this summer. He will show well if given minutes especially in a competitive environment.

Does some nice things, can play the passing lanes well. His shot is streaky but he’s shown more confidence this year shooting than his first two. He’s athletic enough to finish at the basket too.

I'm fine with the signing, just don't like that he was our FIRST call when the priority shoudl have been getting BIGS.

Also, I hate that we got him to "replace" DFS...we should have had both of these guys, not a 1:1 "trade".

I hope I'm wrong on him...but nothing spectacular to me on this one. Yes he was good in Memphis, but there's no pressure playing there. We'll see how he does here.

I do like that he's 6'8...that's encouraging because we need bigger guys in the west on the wing.

I like that he is 23. And I like that he can somewhat shoot?

Not anything to hate, but also not a lot to love. Also, signing him might make DK more expendable, which I don't like. I still like DK quite a bit, and if he improves his defense even a little...he's a huge asset for us and a great fit next to Luka.

This was a great first call. Jake the snake is going to help us in a ton of ways. He will be big for us this season and in a year or two AR and AM (the morning guy) will be deadly. Pretty complete player that isn't going to fade in the pressure of being a Lakers bc he isn't shot dependent.
