    Tough game to lose

We need to right the ship somehow

    Hayes 19 pts 5 reb 2 ast

LK 8 pts 2-3 from the 3 line

How do they get 31 FT attempts and we get 15?

nationally televised game in denver; scheduled loss.

definitely disheartening that we can't beat them without gordon and watson, though.

our defenders can't shoot; our shooters can't defend, and that's kind of the whole story. desperately need two starting-quality two-way players. it's ok to have smart, kennard, laravia as 20mpg bench guys. front office needs to earn its money this summer.

Hoping for a complete wipeout in the PO's and a reset this summer.

Meh...we have talent..we have players with plenty of playoffs experience, most of our team are in their physical prime, besides obviously Lebron, but he's still a top player in the NBA.

What we also have, is a novice HC, that doesn't know WTF he's doing, and routinely gets outcoached in big games. He's still learning on the job. Luke babysat the Warriors, to the best record in the League for a spell, well... who's hired him to coach their team since then?

Our chef has the ingredients for a good stew, but he hasn't quite figured out, how to season and cook it properly yet. That will come with time....hopefully..or perhaps he's better suited for a bottom feeder, which would allow him more time, to grow into the job.

I would be open to this in this sense; if you told me the team just hasn't had minutes with Luka, Austin, & LBJ and they're still figuring things out on the floor. However, when you lose to a team missing 2 starters for the 3rd time, it's an issue.

Knicks & Wolves next, which could both be easily losses. As I said in another thread, Phoenix is missing Brooks and now Mark Williams, so I think we'll be fine.

We'll make the playoffs without a doubt. JJ will most likely get outcoached when we get there too, so it's on the players to succeed in spite of the handicap on the bench. That is also entirely possible.

Yeah, I agree there with respect to the PO's. If Phoenix was healthy, I'd say, we're going to end up in the play-in, but Phoenix will likely tailspin.

We got people in multiple important positions that likely won't be hired again if we get rid of them and that's part of the problem with the franchise right now IMO. Luckily we seem to be addressing those, but JJ gets another year IMO.

i disagree that our coach has a roster that can win at the highest level. that doesn't mean jj is great, but sorry, this just isn't it. again, all the other top teams are bursting at the seams with two-way players.

i haven't looked lately, but i'd wager the only player on our whole roster who's a net positive on both ends is freaking jaxson hayes lol.

Not great to lose to what is supposed to be one of the better potential first round matchups for us when they're missing the two guys (Gordon, Watson) that give us the most issues from an athleticism standpoint. Honestly wouldn't be mad if we fell into the play-in and then missed the playoffs entirely. Pull a 2023 Mavs and try to get a better pick.

JJ is a bottom 10 head coach. Roster sucks, yes, but for somebody as arrogant and know it all ish, it's kind of funny. But yeah, he sucks. Along with roster. I mean 26-20 after an 11-4 start kind of gives you the story...

Nah..we are in the West, which is the tougher Conference. The team won 50 games last season, and with a 13-7 finish, we will win 50 again this season. So I reject this idea, that this roster is total garbage. Our HC doesn't seem to know how to gameplan against the better teams, regardless of whether they are missing key players or not..I think that points to a coaching problem.

I get all this " two way players stuff "..to an extent. Denver won a championship basically playing 7 guys, and people like to claim Jokic and Murray are mediocre defenders. So there is more than one way to skin a cat. I remain steadfast, that we should have won another title, if Tinkerbell hadn't choked in the Conference Finals.

If we don't advance out of the first rd this season, Redick should be fired, just like Hamm was. The finger pointing should also start being directed, towards the person that builds the roster, and hires the coaching staff..IMO.

There’s nobody on the current Lakers roster that can fill the roles the MPJ and Brown filled for that Nuggets championship team. That Nuggets team didn’t exactly have a great coach either but they had the right fit for their stars.
