Game Debrief: What Went Right And What Went Wrong?

Worst loss the year: Riley and the showtime lakers in the house and you completely shat the bed
-Another team just out muscled the lakers. I have no idea how a team with 3 playmakers can't handle ball pressure
-Luka revenge game chance against a team that embarrased him in the Finals: shat the bed
-AR got not just outplayed by pritchard, pritchard punked him
-Ayton f***ing played like a p**** - chance for a come back and you p**** foot a dunk? so many defensive rebounds
-Defensive rebounding sucked again.
-Lebron got going but he's too old to complete carry a team anymore
-SO MANY OPEN 3's BRICKED - Rui, Smart, Lebron, Luka. lakers would have won this if they just made WIDE OPEN 3's. Celts hit contested 3's Lakers bricked open ones is basically the game.

 

One team is a true Contender because they play good defense.
The other is not because they don’t.

 

This team gets embarrassed in every one of these celebration games the last few years so I honestly am not surprised at all by the outcome. The refs stink but man did we whine a lot. Boston just came in and took care of business while we looked soft and mentally weak.

Really not looking forward to getting embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs again.

 

I actually like JJ but man Mazzula brought the can of whoop a** - told his guys to drive into the chest of Lakers defenders, get Luka whining, and he called a TO with a 4 point swing when Lakers had 2 good Lebron/AR plays and shut off the Lakers. Made sure to shut off the Lkaers water after just 4 point swing - JJ doesn't call one till the Lakers lose the lead

Oh f*** the refs - how many goaltends can you miss??

 

The goal tend and elbow to Smart were justified crash outs from us. Just awful calls.

 

Recorded this to watch later but won’t.

Pritchard’s hilarious to me bc he can look like a superstar and then utterly replaceable from game to game.

The fact that we basically get stomped in all big nationally televised games is a HUGE drag and speaks to leadership more than anything. We’re either unconcerned or cowed, and neither is acceptable. I watched those big college games this weekend, and all 4 of those teams showed up ready to compete. We basically never do.

 

Exactly. We literally never seem to step up.

 

The audacity to increase ticket prices

I’m sorry, but I think we’re cooked. This team will be lucky to get out of the first round. Our defense is horrendous. We got out hustled all night by the C Bags and our lack of interior defense was exposed. I mean it’s been getting exposed all year long.

This roster is so poorly constructed by Rob Pelinka. With Luka, LeBron, and Austin you need better defensive personnel than you have right now. We need a rim protector badly and a legitimate consistent two player wing, which we are sorely lacking right now.

 

There is no team culture. Unlike a Kobe lead team, there is no accountability, LeBron is washed and does not deserved half of the salary cap. Luka and Reaves have no room to grow as leaders as long as the old man is still around

 

So...Luka and Austin got outplayed by Brown and Pritchard, but that’s Lebron's fault?
