I don't expect this to be the norm for him. But we really could've used better shooting, better D, and playing at the same wavelength as teammates.

I didnt' like the signing over the summer and I hate it now.

He had a good playoff run but that's all it was...he's an inefficient and short PG.

THe problem is that our other backup PG also sucks and is inefficient.

It wasn't good but he had a couple nice plays. He's a system player and should take some time to settle, he's not amazing in any facet of the game, but plays hard and stays ready.

People should start to forget Schroeder, he's gone and not coming back. We may need to start talking Caruso into existence, Bulls will blow up and we need to grab him

Yeah the eye test is telling me he is a downgrade from Schroder. Historically he shoots the 3 practically identical to Dennis so we can't even count on that being a definite. upgrade.

I think he's a system player not yet used properly in our system. Hope that day comes.

I DO NOT like lineups of him and DLO at the same time. Please no.

ham wants to play 2 pgs, lebron wants to play zero pgs.

    this is fine.

I'd say him wanting to play next a dominant PG after 2020 was more about being sure to beat Kareem's record than anything else .

He knows PGs who are small and/or can't defend are not the good formula in the playoffs

Yet Raptors won in 2019, Miami made the ECF 3 times in 4 years, sometimes with 2 small PGs. Not to mention Curry. I'm not sure that's actually a thing

    Curry is an exception .

Lowry could defend , Gabe couldn't stay on the floor in the Finals

really feels like a system player

We need a system to get the best out of him, and a well defined role. I'm afraid we offer neither really.

If we don't, I have a feeling he will continue to look average and like a questionable signing.

He played +30min in 3 of the 5 games in the Finals, 1-2. Then in the 4th Spo tried something else because he had to. Went 0-2.

He played +26min in all games against Boston, including +40min twice.
He played +30 in 4 of the 6 games against NY including one with 40min.
He played +28 in 3 of 5 games against the Bucks, including one 40min.

He doesn't seem like he couldn't stay in the floor. All this with Lowry also playing, a bonafide vet champ who lost his place for Gabe.

Gabe also has 64 playoff games btw, didn't know he was this experienced

I think he's a smart player that will find his spot. But the staff needs to define his role and rotations and firm up the system to get the most out of him.

Gabe, you got your work cut out for you. The other former Heat player balled out in game one.
