    That would be pretty rare from both camps of such highly ranked players in the draft to agree to one on one workout..... wouldn't it? Highly doubt that happens. The old man probably wouldn't allow it.

    Honestly I think Fox is earning his respect lately. Basically since the Combine, Fox has been considered equal to Ball as a prospect. Around here I know Fox is well respected anyway.

    As for his shooting, it'll be a process. The good news is 1) Fox knows he needs to improve and 2) he has solid mechanics so he should be able to improve. Fox is no Romeo in that regard.

    Like I've said, Ball is the better fit between the two. The things Ball does well work best with our roster. However, Fox can still move above Lonzo if he exhibits that fierce competitiveness. I like Fox a lot and he definitely deserves a shot but in the end I think Ball is still the right choice. I'm very much looking forward to the workouts to see if Fox can pull away.

    Probably because Lonzo is left eye dominant. When going right, he needs to bring the ball across his body, setting and aligning the ball below his left eye before releasing.

    It is odd, because he gathers his shot to his left, its more advantageous for him to go left.

    It's could also be seen as an advantage. You're going to expect a righty to go right, he goes left and has a good look. Or you guard his left, he blows by you right. You give him space, he takes a shot.

    We're definitely in a great position & I'd gladly take Fox on our Team, but I'll stand by my claim that Ball has much more of an "IT" factor. Fox is a freakish athlete without a doubt. He was able to slice apart UCLA's defense, but the Bruin's also had one of the lowest rated Defenses in the Tourney & one game really means nothing. Fox wasn't able to just use his athleticism to get by the much better UNC defense & the NBA will be filled with comparable athletes.

    The court vision, leadership, shooting & natural feel for the game that Ball has is extremely rare & IMO, much more valuable to a Team in the Lakers position than the other top prospects..

    We only know what our eyes tell us, but I have complete faith with the new regime and the scouting department they will choose best player to make all of our parts work. Either way im just ecstatic we are even in this position and I dont care who we choose. I just think the franchise trend is going up a steep climb sooner rather than later.

    If the Lakers indeed enter the Lonzo era, they’ll need athletic bigs who can run with him and space the floor. Wilson checks those boxes, and also possesses good mobility on the defensive end that makes him one of the more interesting stretch-four types in the class. In that respect his strengths are a little different from Julius Randle and Larry Nance, and he fits the mold of player L.A. should try and add into this mix.

    I mean, all the talk on the local radio is Magic and this front office is in love with Ball. I think we give Fox a look, but in the end, we select Ball and it isn't really close. I don't think we use the 28th pick. I think it goes out in a trade with maybe Nance that sheds Deng or Mozgov.

    I think Fox will get a fair shot. This to me is the Okafor workout. If Fox outperforms Ball in a workout, separately or against each other, the Lakers might still go with Fox. Ball has to show them up close what kind of player he's going to be. If he does that, I think it's his position to lose.

    Agreed. But in the end, this feels like the Ingram situation last season. #1 and #2 seem to be pretty much set in most people's minds.

    I imagine that if you digest it all at once, you'll come to a simple conclusion: KRL is Lavar Ball and he somehow rigged the lottery.

    That seems to be the national narrative but I still say keep a close close eye on Fox. He really made a big name for himself at the Combine.

    Was anyone else really confused during the lottery? When they got to Sacramento's pick and it wasn't there, I assumed that meant Sacramento moved into the top 3 which would've knocked us out. So I immediately was pissed off and kinda zoned out for the rest of the picks. Didn't really understand what was going on with the Sac/Phi swap, and never considered that Phoenix or Boston could've been bumped from the top 3. I didn't even process it when they called Phoenix at #4.

    Didn't realize we still had the pick until I saw Magic smiling so that was a pretty great emotional 180 for me :D

    I'm not following you. What good is Fox creating space if he can't shoot? Ball is excellent with the step back 3. He's also a great spot up shooter, and it's up to Luke to create shots for him.
