You’ll see why soon. The results will say it very clearly.

What's wrong with him getting his handles and passing ability up to "combo guard" level? He's doing it on his own time and it shows. Not inconceivable as many have aluded to that with injuries or foul trouble he might have to be deep bench back up for what Gabe does while he's still here. This kid turns 21 THIS year and the better he gets at all the skills the better it is for his career and for the Lakers as long as he's here, and he's already shown marked improvement. With the glimpses seen I don't get the rush to pigeon hole and career cap him. He's going to overpower many rotation guards himself and be better than them by NEXT year at the least IMO.

I can’t bring myself to click the article. Bronny is actually pretty irrelevant at this point. He has a lot to do before any beat writer should be writing articles about him. At least for his play.

What other end of the bench player gets a write up. I don’t condone this type of nepotistic favoritism.

LOL … over the top negative considering we need to get Gabe out of here by the deadline so we don’t lose him for nothing …. and the level of improvement he HAS shown. Boo because you don’t like his old man you let it carry over to a promising young player.

lol, i'm a bit with ox here. he's starting WAY behind the curve on the stuff required here, imo. the examples of the level of improvement he'd need are incredibly rare. furthermore, even if he eventually gets there, if he wants on the court now, it won't be in a facilitating role in real nba games. not with us, at least. and honestly, probably not with the washington wizards, either.

step one in career development is defend and hit the catch and shoot three. i think mikal bridges is a good example here of someone who technically *can* do more than he does, but if you want to win, he only does so in a pinch.

it would be one thing if bronny had already demonstrated proficiency as a three and d guard a la gpII. but even that's a theory right now.

Both things can be true. He can do what you say he's ever going to be capable of (ignoring he's the son of an all time greatest of greats and "AHEAD" with the mental preparation and genes/body/athleticism to do whatever the heck he wants in the league if he works hard enough and long enough) (Gianna Bryant same level tutoring and genes) ... and be what you want him to be. He can ALSO (book it) continue on his own work schedule to get better and better with everything else. The Lakers seem to think so. Do you find them silly and the thought outrageous with their opinion too, after admitting you might wind up being wrong?

I may be wrong but I expect a lot of people to be pretty surprised at how good he's going to look at whatever the coaching staff "wants" him to be doing in camp and pre-season games ... even with the difference since summer league. And don't sleep on the Marcus Smart factor tutoring either.

Yeah you’ve said it over and over but won’t explain YOUR logic.

I’ll give you 2 ifs. 1. If he hadn’t had the heart episode there’s absolutely no doubt he would have had a lot better first year at USC. 2. If not for his old man’s wish to play with him and soon as possible he would have stayed in school at least one more year and instead of having a lackluster to poor comparatively NBA combine last year and instead come out this year and had shown the raw potential he showed at this summer league, at the combine, this year, he would have gone in the 1st round or early second to a team taking a flyer on the pedigree and potential NOW that IS showing. You can spew your hate all you want but until you convince me with logic as to what makes you so positive and why that he hasn’t got the ability to rise to the level of at least a competent rotation player in the league …. I’m calling you out for it being a crappy and weenie way to debate an issue. I can give you at least 4-5 reasons supporting my opinion and as said yesterday have done that multiple times. So to me your unexplained opinion vs what I’ve seen with my own eyes doesn’t mean didley and I‘m convinced your dead wrong. Change my mind!

not to be a huge downer, but the lakers' player development has been crap for a while. we draft/sign well with young guys, but almost never develop successfully. guys go elsewhere and do better. now, maybe that's impatience, but it may also be that we don't have a sensible developmental system. guessing reddick saw that, and it's why he said he wanted to focus on it (reaves is the only guy we've "developed" and he basically showed up ready to go).

bronny would be a rare success for us, which i'd welcome. but i'm still not sure it makes sense to work heavily on the skills you won't be using right away when you're not already an nba rotation player. every rep he gets in the game running the pick and roll is a rep where he's not moving off the ball and catching and shooting. you can't do both, imo. you master one, then you can start working on the other. he's mastered neither.
