Exactly and what’s the fastest way to correct this lack of dependable depth while getting the most in return

 

Hard disagree with you man. We have other options including picks with trades (non Austin), Walter’s proven hiring talent, beginning with the Tony Bennett “find us gems in the later draft positions and already in the NBA with specific talents we need, but languishing on the bench elsewhere types he hopefully gets to identify” acquisition, and developing internally with Thierro and Bronny even. AR is too multi talented to the benefit of this team to ship him out like that to fill THOSE holes. As if Luka is some ironman.

 

I hope they find a gem of trade for AR otherwise this incremental improvement will take years.I guess most of this board is happy with the status quo but I believe it’s just wasting time

 

Who and what Redick wants to keep on this roster in hard discussions with Walters and the front office will decide it. I trust what THEY will do. Even if I’m wrong.

Wrong.Today right now it’s Ajay Mitchell,you know that guy who is killing it.I think everyone one would agree Ajay isn’t AR he isn’t Jalen Williams but he looks pretty competent now doesn’t he. I have already floated a couple trade ideas for AR don’t feel the need to rehash them

Lol why does that guy get a pass? He's been putrid. People even like to call him by his first name like he is their buddy or something. You don't see people saying Dalton, Jared, Nick, Maxi, Jaxon, etc. The guy has only been here one year. He's worse than Cardio Gabe. Vincent was more neutral where he didn't help or hurt. But this guy throws the ball to the other team. He hurts the team. Makes me nervous every time he touches the ball.

Because you’re going to see a better Jake next season I firmly believe. Both sides of the ball. And at his pay grade that’s tremendous bang for the buck. I doubt you are seriously going “career capper” on him at 23 years old.

 

Even Trevor Lane is out on Jake.
I hope the kid improves somehow this summer, but he’s worthless for us in these playoffs.

 

Put down the (odd in first place) broad brush. I do it all the time depending on mood at the time. Not to mention Jake rolls off the fingers more easily than LaRavia. And see my reply above as to why I don’t include Jake in with guys who have already been here more than one year, are older and have little reason to expect they will improve next year.

 

Why would I lose it ? I’m already on record saying I didn’t expect them to trade him.Its strange that you think I don’t like him as a player when I have stated numerous times I do believe he is a very talented player.I don’t fall in love with players though.

 

he looks great because we have only one guy who can defend the perimeter (he's also pretty good, though).

anyway, there's a reason okc paid max for jalen williams, and it's the same reason we'll pay reaves a lot.

Great,but not the point.There are competent secondary ball handler’s/playmaker’s that don’t have to be AR or Jwill. How about trading AR for that competent secondary and a perimeter defender.Then use free agency for another wing defender.This is like a no brainer to immediately improve.
Does that make them a championship team? I don’t know but what we all know is this team as currently constructed isn’t one for sure.
