I think it's a combo of Austin only playing 22 games so far this season and them not wanting to give a 6 seed 3 All Stars. The first one is what it is. As for the second one, I've always hated the idea that the number of All-Stars should correlate with your record. I feel like it's entirely possible to have multiple players performing at extremely high level individually, but the team is just okay because of supporting cast or fit or whatever. Conversely, I hate when they try to find a 3rd All-Star on a team just because they're a high seed.
spurs were bellyaching already about only having wemby as an allstar. whatevs. austin could use the continued chip on the shoulder.
Dearon Fox does have a much better defensive rating than Austin Reaves which might have something to do with it too.
They traditionally never seem to play much. Unless the new format has brought some semblance of real competition back in. Didn’t watch last year. Isn’t that why all the changes … trying to get the players to care again?
