Ahhh. Finally! You might be right, but I never thought Luka would be available this early in his career. But the fact that you conceded to trading Reaves is mission accomplished. Right player, right deal, right fit, and we need to be ready. @LTLakerFan bite me.
again, pretty sure nobody said they'd never trade reaves for anything. that's your strawman. we said we wouldn't trade him for JJJ (smart) or for like, herb jones.
I'm sure you did; you don't speak for the entire forum, and the s*** I come across my screen. Isn't no strawman. Because if you really asked a few posters here, they would keep him and not trade him for anybody. Sorry, Reaves fanboys are delusional.
I'm glad he did; we need to start having these discussions centered around Reaves, IMO. He's our best asset by far this summer, and if he's re-upped, teams are going to ask for him if we inquire on other All-Stars that are just better 2-way fits, IMO. Whether it would be this summer or whenever, it's likely to happen unless we strike in FA. I'd be willing to try the Luka/Austin combo if we grabbed a Peyton Watson & a mobile PF (thinking a souped up Vando) if we can find one. Try it. You'll have a large enough sample size until next Feb to see if it works.
Yeah. I think if we get the right guys next to them then we would be able to compete. If I'm wrong, then you can still move Austin later. I do think its worth exploring if those two can work longterm.
That was all I asked in the first place since you jokingly I assumed indicated AR might be back soon.
If it truly improved us and we had a LEGIT effective plan B for running the offense while Luka sits or is out longer periods with injuries, and can score the ball effectively …. I’d be OK. Like with AD and losing some well liked players. Worse with AR as I am a big fan but would get over it. As said before just let Walter do his thing, as you’ve committed to, and knock off your constant shots at AR and those of us who are fans. It’s part of the game too.
There was definitely some "I would only trade Austin for Jokic or Giannis" stuff here early in the season. There was definitely some "I wouldn't trade Austin for Giannis" stuff too, even I said I wasn't sure about that one.
i mean, i could name 20 guys i'd probably trade him for, but pretty much none of them will be traded for anyone, so it's sort of a useless venture. the reaves/giannis discussion is mostly about the age difference and the fact that making that trade in-season probably wouldn't give us a better shot at a ring this year (and would make the rest of team-building tricky next summer due to the salary difference).
