He is, period. Glad he's getting the usage. And I'm glad the "Lakers" are winning. See you in May, Zen. We'll remember you.
I've had to eat plenty of crow over the years. It is really not that bad. Deep fry it, drowned it in bbq sauce and wash it down with an Alaskan Amber. We're all just enjoying the win and the road to a championship.
I think the best part of this is we officially know Reaves has taken a step to the next level. And that just means that the Lakers have a true Big 3 that is unrivaled in the league. At all points of the game, the Lakers have a top 15 player in the game. Every 48 minutes. Now we're seeing Reaves develop great chemistry with Ayton. Remember it was about Luka+Ayton? The guy who unlocked Ayton's game will be Reaves! $30 million is on the low end right now. He can genuinely get $40 million per year because teams are noticing that he genuinely is that good. 2026 is a weak free agency class but Reaves is a top five free agent so there will be teams offering him big money. I knew Reaves was good but man, he's REALLY damn good. It's beautiful to watch his game develop and how he will adjust to the game. Today, he realized he had to get others involved because against the Blazers, they just forced Reaves to do everything. He became like Steve Nash out there. Then when Luka/Bron are back, he'll adjust and go back to being a 22/6/6 player. He's going to get paid and he's earned every bit.
AR just continues to completely dazzle out there. He is HIM. Keep this kid right here. 16 assists, 28 points and the stone cold game winner after splitting the defenders off the dribble!
It’s good to see him continue to get better. I personally don’t think you can win a title with him as your 3rd best player (at least not next to Luka and old man Bron) because he struggles on the defensive end, and when the game gets super physical in the playoffs, he seems to wear down. But for now, he’s been fantastic, controlling the game, getting everyone involved, tonight hitting the game winner. I do think if he plays anywhere close to this all season he will earn whatever contract he gets, he’s doing things not a ton of players can do, he’s greatly outplaying his current contract. I’m glad he continues to prove doubters wrong, and if he proves me wrong in the end, even better.
You're right, he'll be the 2nd best player, and Bron will be a defensive role player in the playoffs.
I think everyone should enjoy Austin’s run here for as long as it lasts. You couldn’t ask for a better outcome than this with an undrafted guy. He’s improved every year and is now actually showing he can carry and lead this team for at least a few games. His price tag is going up and deservedly so IMO.
Why would anyone watch that garbage, they’re mailing it in… for three years. Stupid takes, it’s obvious they are not watching games
