Yeah, that is really great news. Hopefully, Rui will be back relatively soon as well. Vando and Dorian can keep the fort down in the meantime.
He should sit. Calves are very tricky. Luka kept coming back too soon. CMC - then it turns to Achilles issues. Take a week please:
I somehow missed Goodwin's injury... was it a bad sprain, or is this just a precaution? It's good they are playing it safe with Austin, he should get a week off.
Just curious because Reaves is one of the most valuable contracts in the league and if the Lakers were to make a huge move, Reaves would most likely be included. Let's say you had to trade Reaves. What would you expect in return? (assuming you can package other salaries for a star player minus LeBron and Luka).
yeah, allstar in his prime (mid 20s) or recent lotto pick who's already shown some star potential (like an amen thompson type). it's hard to imagine any deal that makes sense, though. it's when his contract runs out that we'll have to make some choices. he's got that player option in 26-27 (that he's most certainly taking). at that point, he's probably commanding a 35 million per deal, right? all of a sudden, the value changes. anyway, not going to borrow trouble right now, as a lot can happen in a year. we've got a contending-level core this year and next, and that's as much as you can ask for, imo. for now, unless one of those things i mentioned first is coming back, i don't even consider it.
This is like the Spurs trading Ginobili. Realistically in that era only Wade and Kobe were upgrades. I mean do the Lakers get better with Bane: neutral at best Would you trade AR for straight up for NBA All star Tyler Herro I wouldn't. How about All star Lillard I would hang up the phone. Same with All star Trae Young Maybe OKC J dub?
Its hard to find a Reaves trade that makes any sense. The first team I thought of was Orlando because they desperately need shot creation from the guard spots. Suggs/WCJ made some sense to me, but Suggs' shooting regressed after he shot it well in 2024, plus he's now having knee surgery and has a poison pill contract. I thought of Adebayo, but a Reaves/Herro backcourt doesn't really make sense for Miami. Do you go back to the well and try and get Christie/Lively for Reaves? Ultimately, Austin in all likelihood isn't getting traded. I think Giannis and JJJ are the targets to replace LeBron as Luka's running mate, and if that's the case Austin becomes even more vital than he already is because those guys aren't the playmakers that LeBron is.
AR and Luka are listed as questionable for tonight, so there is a 50% chance for them to play. A coin flip... we'll see how that goes.
Just asking to understand you guys' thinking on this. Austin's a bit taller, similar weight, and if DLO hadn't been here and AR had the role he has now all season his scoring average would have been over 20 easy by now too. I'm sure Jaylen is more explosive and the better athlete but the rest of the numbers there's not some "huge" difference here. From what I read with a quick search on salary he's expected to receive a big bump up and extension this summer from his still rookie contract in its 3rd year now. My question is we have in AR is literally a mini Luka in how he plays the game and can run an offense plus he's the ultimate connector type player to make whatever rotation he's on the floor with run better. What makes Jaylen so valuable to ignore that last sentence .... for like the next 5 years? Both will continue to improve and I know Jaylen is around 3 years younger. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/compare-austin-reaves-and-jalen-williams-this-season
