Well, he wanted to be here, and we wanted him here, and we offered him the most. We could right after midnight, and that meant a lot to him.

I think we could only offer more if it was the poison pill matching of a contract, but that means he would’ve had to have received one first. We broadcast out that we were going to match any deal, so we were the first ones there lol.

I belive the 1st 2 years, would have been limited to the same 12M, no matter where he signed. I don't believe there was some rule, that prevented him from getting an opt out next season

It was also his first “big” contract and 50M with the opt out after 3 years is kind of bird in hand coming off rookie contract where a severe injury could mess up those last 2 years big time …. see Cousins.

very curious to see if jj can get lebron on board with an offense that has less dribbling and ball screens. it should work, but whenever things got rough, it was always lebron up top with the ball. that was bad offense, for a multitude of reasons. we're about to find out who drives that, i think.

Can't have AR slipping off the first page as he is the glue holding our team together. He will be instrumental in Knecht hitting the ground running.

Or scuffling with him in practice like Max. That's the competition, gotta let the young bucks know, what's what, and who HIM is.

Yes! Posted about this below a few minutes earlier as well but mistakenly stuck it in Redick's thread. I think actual match play starts on the 12th but partying probably today. Am trying to find a list of the 2024 handicaps, but only 2023 so far. I think AR is a scratch or very close to scratch golfer.

B.T.W. .... Go AR!! Today starts the 2024 American Century Celebrity Lake Tahoe golf tournament. Here's a list of the athletes and former athletes he will be competing against. Steph Curry wimped out ..... using the Paris Olympics as an excuse to duck him. Big Puss. :giggle:

We'd have a better idea if I could find the handicaps but my gut feeling is no. He has tremendous form and beats the hell out of the ball for distance .... really a terrific golfer. I'd love to see a for charity big match between him and Steph Curry.

Here's the top NBA players handicaps. Both he and Steph are at 2. On another link I saw his longest drive as 441 yards. Holy crap! And low round of 68.

Is this really an issue? In the most critical game of the year - it was LBJ or AR attacking mismatches. I don't think the late game offense was much of an issue.

OTOH just watching this series after the end of the playoffs is just freaking brutal. Flip out Gafford for Rui and I think the Lakers win this series easily
