I watched the game tonight. I thought he progressed well in his 2nd game & he looked good tonight - the activity defensively (4 steals), the ability to be a help defender on the backline, and the ability to contest shots with his verticality and point-of-attack defense have been okay. I like the way they've been utilizing him as a screen and a roller on offense; those are the parts (cutting, screening,) that he's going to be effective with Austin/Luka if he gets any playing time. Needs to hit a shot, though. Missed all his 3's. Looked like he got tapped on the first two and the rest he just clanked. Way to make an impact, though.
If he could hit league average from 3, I'd be open to it. I love him and & Carr just having their moments on the floor. Reminds me when I saw Randle and Clarkson, and I knew those 2 guys would be NBA players. At this stage, that's all you hope for...
I’m just trolling, you know there’s going to be like 3-4 people saying “don’t get ahead of yourself, they’re just rookies.” Like yeah we all know. But both guys have the tools to develop into rotation players, that’s a far cry from JHS.
This is more like how he looked in G league last year, not those first two summer league games where he looked like he took a step backwards. Guy looked great tonight.
Adou got horribly jobbed on that monster clean stuff at the rim not even out of the shooter’s hand still on the way up. Aside from ALL the impressive things he did against OKC that suddenly have him looking half or even less as “raw” as he did the 1st game in the CA Classic, he is throwing some nice passes harking back to his point guard and point forward play in HS. And clearly the coaching staff is encouraging him to incorporate those ball handling skills again into his game, and at his size he’s going to be a beast if he can get tighter with his handle.
