I'm a bit surprised that we weren't interested in Gafford, for salary matching and 1 FRP. We could have picked up a starting center and still kept all our cap space. I guess Rob has a bigger target in mind?

feel like we've told a bunch of guys that there could be decent-sized money for them if we strike out on plan A. most of them will take other deals first, but there's always guys left without a dance partner.

agree that bagley would be a good pickup if we strike out on all the bigger name centers. but i also think dallas is trying to move gafford and keep bagley cheaper. first team to offer dallas a first will get gafford lol.

same with claxton. we're clearly chasing duren, imo. i agree with folks that it's incredibly unlikely, but too many things are pointing in that direction. couple more days until clarity...

Or we already have a deal for a starter in place; a deal that involves Ayton going out, and we are looking at another back up big.

yeah, i could be wrong. just trying to sort out an explanation that fits all the evidence (out on trades so far, suggesting we have big targets, no agreements with FAs that could influence cap usage, etc.).

I was thinking that Hayes was a sure bet returning, but IDK..that might not be the case.

Rudy Gobert remains a solution that would work for both teams IMO. If we could land Rudy through trade and keep the cap space; we could possibly land Robinson, and Thybulle, Ellis or Grimes.

I think folks around here would love that scenario.

still betting on it. of everyone, hayes probably has the fewest suitors and might be the most likely to take a short-term deal at low money to preserve his bird rights. i don't think him joining the slovenian national team is a nothingburger, lol.

before they traded reid, i thought we might be able to grab rudy in a secondary trade after they moved him for a pg. but they moved reid for lamelo instead, so i think gobert is staying there.

Wade was a starter for an ECF team and was just fine in a large amount of minutes. Wade has way more of a resume in a good way then Jake

wade's definitely better and more proven than jake. little worried about whether he was a product of the system in cleveland and also worried about fit with luka and lebron. either/or is fine.

especially when we need starters both on the perimeter and at center, he can't be the big acquisition.

Ayton could start and put up good numbers in Minnesota. Vando played with Ant and McDaniels already, Jake and Dalton could get burn there too. They need some bodies and some draft picks.

I will wait until the 30th to officially start freaking out if this is the type of FA we're targeting.

Wild that the Clippers have faced no punishment for the Kawhi thing, got to use their draft pick, and now might get assets for Kawhi as well

Wade is long and plays good D.
I was hoping he shoots better from 3 but he’s only at 36% over the last two seasons.
Part of Rob’s Plan B for sure.
If Rob strikes out big time this summer and has to settle, he has to be fired.

Off-season used to be fun. Now, highlight of the season is a freakin Summer League. If it wasn't for us getting Luka, my 38 years of being a fan might have been over :(

of the guys who interest me, the only one who's gone for something we probably could swing was claxton. most of my hopeful targets are still out there as of now.
