Nooooo…. The lakers could have matched that or even done better. $6.5 mil/season is good value for Kennard.

Another 2nd round pick down the drain for nothing. Again, if we didn’t want to keep any of these guys, and we CLEARLY were not competing for a title, why not ship them out for any assets we could get? Why trade for Kennard at all? I’m sorry, our FO is terrible at asset management, terrible. Also we didn’t want him at that price, for almost half of what he was making?

I feel like I had made a really strong case why there wouldn’t be a market above the room for Kennard and Smart. To see them both sign for less than that is tough to swallow.

They’re great value contracts at their prices and Lebron will sign for the MLE somewhere. Damn shame.

Sandro to me is like a younger Kleber. Not as physical or as good defensively but a bit better at shooting. Kleber could defend 3-5 when he was younger.

This is malfeasance on the Lakers end.

They're letting some incredibly solid deals just blow past them.

How did you not try and reconnect Tim Hardaway Jr. with Luka for $6.5 million? Keon Ellis at $9 million didn't get a look? That would at least make the Smart not getting a deal a lot more salvageable. We were talking about Kennard getting $12-15 million per season after the playoffs... he went for $6.5 million and just poof, gone?

Unless the Lakers pull something out of their a** and get Peyton Watson + Walker or Duren, this was a massive failure of an offseason at a very important time for the Lakers.

There's no way they can replace LeBron's impact from a value perspective other than getting some steal deals here and so far, they have not gotten any.

Also, not really understanding the Rui craze. The guy can't rebound, play defense, or do anything besides hit timely 3's in the playoffs. He's more-so around $10 million but he probably wants $18-22 million per year. Not worth it. That experiment has run its course.

We have to wait to see how this entire thing plays out but Rob better pull a golden rod out of his a** at this point.

I'll miss Smart. I've liked his game since his college days.

    Kennard? I can live without.

LBJ? We can't replace his production, and I'm fully aware of that, but I'm glad made the choice to move on. It was going to happen at some point.

Either way, we're going to be worse this upcoming season more than likely, but it is what it is...

I expected Luke to bolt but seeing our FAs leave for cheap sucks.

Rob must've really hated last year's team. He does love himself some roster TNT.

Pelinka and the front office have said time and time again that they are looking for players to fit Luka's timeline, which means Smart and Lebron were never gonna come back. Smart was great for us last season but he's almost 33 and has been very injury prone the last few seasons, we got him cheap last season and he was a great pickup like DFS was the previous season but he was never in any future plans to build around luka. Houston might get burned again with a bad multi year contract like DFS is. We all know the deal with Bron, in his 40s, gets paid a ton and has a rich paul stirring s*** up. Getting rid of Rich Paul is gonna be a godsend for us.

Grimes and Sandro are both 26 and fits in Luka's timeline along with Reaves. I also still think Rui is not out of the picture with us just yet but it will be hard to say no to the Spurs and whatever contract they offer him. Let's talk about the hard truths about Rui, i love the guy but he can't play off the bench, can't defend and only consistently hits his 3s in some playoff games. His loss not will not be felt next year, same with Kennard. Kessler is our big fish and even though i dont trust his injury history i prefer him over Mitchell Robinson or signing and trading for Jarrett Allen if Bron wants to go back to Cleveland. We can still pickup some vets like Oubre or Harris but someone like Harris will be a rental like Smart and DFS were, so dont get attached to players like him. We still have 2 picks plus pick swaps to deal with as well, so we still have moves to make.

When AD was traded i knew Brons time in LA was just about done but last season's playoffs were alot of fun and to see Houston get their a**** kicked by our backups will be my last happy Bron memory as a Laker.

are you f***** kidding me. We could have easily retained Kennard and Smart on team friendly deals

What's next, Rui going somewhere for under the MLE?
