I have no f***ing idea what the Wiz are doing.
I'm assuming they sit AD and get.the number one pick and then you have the number one pick AD and Trae so you automatically become a mediocre Eastern conference playing team? You're own picks become mediocre going forward this way and you have no cap space?

They should be doing what Dallas just did is go for bad hoard picks/assets and build around Flagg. Wiz should just be renamed the Generals and be done with it

guess they think AD+trae+rookie 1st round pick+young talent is enough to contend? that could be an interesting team if trae and AD can stay healthy, but that probably won't happen

Still waiting on what trades should have we done or what deals are out there to achieve what you're demanding

I think Chicago also has space
Wiz have a pretty interesting team. Ky George, Sarr, Coulibaly and Bub are legit young guys.

    Trae
    Coulibaly
    George
    Sarr
    AD

Bub, Tre Johnson and a couple guys they get in FA.

It's an awesome team, if healthy. Defensively you can't make it better to protect Trae. Offensively have different weapons.
They also put the young core playing competitive basketball for a couple years, get some playoff reps and then see if they're ready to take it on their own.
At a time the East is so open (+ Giannis potentially leaving), I can see this Wizs making a playoff run if they get lucky with health
Heard they get below the apron. But yeah they may try to keep him

Also, I feel like that AD deal looks better for the Mavs than it actually is. One of those picks is going to be like the 30th pick from the Thunder and the other is top 20 protected. I suppose they get to save face a bit by just saying they got multiple firsts but still.

Apparently the firsts that Washington traded are pretty lousy. I guess they think that they can get Young and AD healthy, rehab their value a bit and then flip them for more than what they acquired them for.

Yeah those picks aren't that great. As always, it comes down to AD's health but I don't hate that team at all.

Mavs are now in full rebuild around Cooper which is fine.

east is garbage, so that team could make some noise. only problem is that the two guys they've hitched their wagon to can't stay healthy

I think the Mavs and Grizzlies both realized there's an open tanking lane in the West. The previous tankers (Blazers, Spurs, Jazz) have either gotten good or are trying to be good. A few teams (Kings, Pelicans) are terrible but won't admit it and will probably try to win next year. The Mavs in particular probably don't want to repeat what happened during Luka's first few years, where he was so good right away that they never got another chance at the top of the draft to bring in another blue chipper.

I'm sorry I think this is utterly stupid of the Wiz. They're players aren't that good right now - Coulibaly regressed this year. Sarr maybe is on his way to be a starter?
Trae/AD get you into the play-in and if you're really lucky into a mid tier slot. They are in now way a contender over a team like Detroit or NY (especially when you take Trae's defensive issues and AD's health issues into account)

In the meantime - you diltue the value of your own picks going forward and you have no cap space. This is not how OKC was built - they had one good year with Paul and Hedgehog and they immediately dumped those guys for assets to be bad again once they realized SGA was going to be better then they thought. Dallas is doing the right thing not trying to be interesting and dumping AD.

i don't think every fanbase is as patient as okc's. the wiz can't be garbage forever. and they kept getting screwed in the draft. even with they got the #2, it was a meh draft.

they didn't give up much for young or AD. i hate tank culture and am mad okc got rewarded for it.

i've preferred watching philly bungle it.

Sure but I literally hate this move by WIz. If you don't want to go the OKC route.
Let's look at what models you can do of recent titel winners
    1) Lakers - umm even the Knicks can't get stars like LA cross that one out
    2) Warriors - great drafting and one of them was a generational star. Dumped assets to get fits for their young star and made acquisitions that fit that star (bogut, Iggy)
    3) Boslon - great draft picks - traded for these draft picks
    4) Bucks - lucky draft pick - leveraged all their assets around that one guy

I love Indiana team building but look how they built - traded away older semi-stars to go for a younger prospect. Like OKC lucked out as Halli is better then what they were expecting. found a star and got anohter star on the cheap who unlike Trae and AD neither old, injury prone, and a 2 way player

The timelines and player type are all messed up for the WIz now even they get that Kansas dude whose supposed to be Jordan 2.0

Injuries happen, it’s why it’s dumb to punt seasons for wild fantasies and cap space that is already slowly being planned for by these other teams
