Yeah, keep him in the east. OKC and the Spurs are going to be here for awhile, and Wemby hasn't hit his peak yet. While Caruso battled, Wemby is still hitting shots over him and everyone else because he's an alien.

    Me either.

FYI: Max Christie is hitting 46 percent of his three pointers this season.

it was on both rob and jeanie. jeanie for making it a choice (it absolutely would not have been had walter owned the team then), and rob for choosing klutch over caruso (nunn was klutch, too).

we traded him for luka doncic; it's ok. there are other christies to be had and guys less talented than christie who can do enough to help us.

They didn't have Fox when the Lakers played them. No Lebron for Lakers.

Agree that when the Lakers went away from the awkward starting lineup it worked against SA but they have a lot of athletes. Need Theiro and or a trade to beat them in 7 games. Gabe won't work against them or OKC

yeah, i forgot, and fox has been our kryptonite ever since we drafted lonzo over him (which i advocated against!). but yeah, we didn't have lebron, either. point is we're on the same tier as they are right now, imo. we're a little behind denver and maybe houston, and way behind okc (like every other team).

still think there's a potential market correction on okc this summer that will bring them back to the pack, and we have a path to contention post-lebron if we can thread the needle.

I think the Spurs were missing Kornet too. That dude is another plus minus all star. Outside of Ayton I was hoping the Lakers would have got him

hahahahahah. You're telling me that? I was making mention for a particular poster that Christie is making strides as a player, and I wasn't criticizing him as a piece in a trade for a hobbled AD and Christie. LOL. Please. Sh**, I'm the one here who don't give a f*** who we trade if it's the right deal for a superstar.

Clamored for Russell for Okafor (both might be temmates in China soon, respectively), and also was the first one on the bus to trade for those kids for a 26 year old AD. I'm probably the only one on the island of I'll trade Reaves if a top 3 piece comes loose, too. Because as many people say "they'll do it," in their heart of hearts, they probably don't want to, and I don't think that's you.

Either way, this roster needs upgrades; don't think we're as far away as many think, but we're not as close either and we need changes; not wholesale, but on the margins would work when you have a talent like Luka.

i wanted him, too, and i knew the spurs meant business when they made him the top FA priority. that was a win-now move.

yeah, i wanted to trade down (for fox, ironically) or out of that draft. i didn't want tatum, either, though, so i was wrong about that one. thought he was rudy gay (nice, but not a superstar).

i feel like there's a serious contradiction between advocating trading reaves for giannis and saying we're close to contention. margins moves are what we need, not giannis moves. we made our giannis move and got a younger giannis-level player.

I don't want Giannis. If there is a move for a younger available two way All-Star that wants to shake loose (top 5ish-10ish player), I'll drive Reaves to the airport.

I don't get the Gianni's move watching the OKC and Spurs is that they came at with good players 100% of the time. I didn't see anything from Shai or Wemby that Luka, Lebron, AR couldn't do. I mean for OKC Caruso was better then any non Shai OKC player

I was seeing that and going need to get players who you trust to make a positive impact (not just eat minutes) for 10 to 20 minutes a game. Gabe ain't it, and only on some night are Hayes and Laravia. The Lakers are really solid elsewhere but the PG is a f***ing huge hole compared to other teams

Vincent is garbaage. Vando can't shoot. Kleber is a bench warmer. Dalton is out of the rotation. Rui is a rotation piece but can't fit and apparently will have a setback if he's benched.

That's not a contender. Not saying you're saying it is, but until we get some actual pieces, this roster isn't doing sh**. We'll win games in the regular season and we'll likely get bounced by the second round if we're fortunate.

Rob has limited assets, expiring salary, and a tough job ahead.

Concerning Mark Walter though and how HE's going to go about this competitively, going forward ..... this is the energy we should look toward. The walk on music for the top closer FA in MLB that he just signed for 3 years. After going back to back chips but with the bullpen being the huge problem it was this year, even after signing the top, or one of, reliever FA last year. We'll get and develop the right players to fit. Quick. I'm a believer.

if only the NBA didn't have a hard salary cap... we'd be crazy

It's going to take better choices from Rob (if he stays) to fix this putrid bench. The way the NBA is nowadays making it harder to build via free agency with this second apron BS and how teams can offer way more to keep players.

True but we have guys already here to develop too in Thiero (really like lots), Manon (same) and Smith Jr (hopefully). A strong suit of Dodgers with their farm system.

let me save you the time: young, two-way, top-10 nba players aren't available. last two times they moved, coincidentally, we got them (AD, luka--though luka isn't fully two-way, i guess). in short, don't hold your breath. just pay reaves and be happy you're not hoarding assets trying to trade for him.

    bingo.

not that tough. problem is we don't quite have the runway that okc and SA have in that we can't devote years and years to developing our back end guys like they have/can.

to me, if you have a top-five player, you always have a chance. we have that. and pretty clean books. we're in a stronger position than bill simmons wants us to be.

It's a tough job "this year," because of the of the aforementioned reasons I listed; also, doesn't help that LBJ is making $52 million.

Yes, it gets easier next season, but I'm referring to "this season," not the next 3-5 years.
