It's crazy when you put it like that. But yeah, this is an incredibly bad look for the NBA...

lol, i'll get in trouble here but in terms of issues for the league, i actually think the giant under the table payment to a league's star is actually much more worrisome than guys leaking injury information to gamblers.

the real issue to me is that the league got in bed with the gambling companies and didn't expect this obvious result.

the result not being that guys like rozier are doing this stuff (they always have), but that it wouldn't draw more attention.

On the gambling stuff, I wonder how much of this is new vs now it's trackable with it being legal. It was easier to hide illegal bets whereas now there's a cross platform network to flag everything.

My guess is that it's always been there but it being legal is actually a better way to catch the culprits and unfortunately shine a light on this ugly side of the sport. With the penalty now being you're going to get found out and banned, I think it will largely curtail most of this. You'll still have a brazen few who think they found a way to go under the radar.

Maybe GS is just a good team with continuity, talent, and good coaching.

Lakers need some time and like GS to have one not just two like of their old farts to be healthy

I think Kenny is off base here. Cheating is cheating and there is no justification for it.

He looks up for the challenge but you have to try something. As AD stated , the Dallas defense was non-existent but even so Wemby was darn good.

    I actually tend to agree.

    Yeah.

I think the reactions to this and Balmer can across as pearl clutching to some but there's a lot of issues that arise with these kinds of things particularly when it happens on a large scale.

Once the public loses faith in the outcomes of your sport you've got a real problem on your hands. Just ask boxing.

The league’s reputation is shot...they need a beloved franchise to win the ring and MVP for its star

I wonder if this increases the chances of a Wiggins deal. Gabe could replace Rozier at point guard, but with better defense and less offense. Rui replaces Wiggins. Miami saves money and gains some other assets. Maybe they want Knecht too.

He just might. Last year I thought there is no way this skinny kid is going to survive the NBA. he looked like Bambi out there. Then this off season he fully committed to a unique cross training approach and he looks like a different player out there. Kareem was doing stuff no one else was doing. He was training with Bruce Lee, doing yoga, and jumping rope with a weighted rope in addition to weight training. Wemby went to the Shaolin Temple and was doing exercises that Jokic wouldn't do in his worst nightmare.

If Wemby went to the Shaolin Temple I commend him. He earned what he is getting.
