melton's a guy i've had my eye on. similar to thybulle (thybulle's better, imo, but requires a trade with portland who hates us). he's coming off a serious injury, but one that people recover from. very good fit. will depend on what bkn does with its space. could see that going lots of ways, and he'll probably want to wait it out, as they have some rights to him that could keep his salary higher.

similar situation with exum in dallas--not sure they let him walk at minimum levels. he'd require tpmle, and even at that, i'm not sure dallas lets him walk.

isaiah jackson is someone that wasn't on my radar, but that's because he tore his achilles. unless it's on a vet min, not sure that's a risk i want to take.

guessing he'll get mle or over; don't see an easy path there. i guess i could see minny having to cut costs and the money drying up on him. in which case a starting job with us could be a big opportunity.

i expect us to get one guy on a vet min that people didn't expect to take a vet min. hopefully, it's another malik monk type case--where it's a younger guy who wants to boost his stock.

do we think he can defend at the next level? that's my concern with little guys. we already have two foundation pieces that aren't super strong defenders, and if you take a look at who's still playing, those teams typically just play one at a time, max. the knicks have to be very creative with brunson out there.

both sga and brunson like to just initiate contact randomly, then lurch away as if it's the defender causing the loss of balance. refs need to let a few of those turn into live ball turnovers, and they'll stop.

He is a noted defender, but it's also not his main skill. I think he is more of a shooter then anything. Their may be a better defensive fit then him available in the draft. My point is we have to get creative and maybe think outside the box in obtaining 3 and D players. They are hard to find and these players are often home grown by teams. An older rookie wouldn't be a horrible idea because Luka just barely turned 26, so still on his timeline..

I do that trade for sure. Camara is way more conducive to winning that Knecht.

    Luka / Gabe
    NAW / Goodwin
    Camara / DFS
    Lebron / Rui
    Claxton
