I like this trade a lot because of Thybulle. Great 3 and D who was hurt all last season, so he's probably under valued a bit right now. Not crazy about RW but he would be okay as a throw in.

portland hasn't traded with the lakers since 1980. so that probably won't happen either way

but time lord can't even stay healthy. why trade for him when they could've had a better oft-injured big in mark williams?

    2 reasons, i'd say.

    1. on the rare occasions time lord plays, he's ELITE defensively. and this happened in both boston and portland-totally different environments. mark's been a good two-way center in limited minutes, but nothing like robert's defensive impact, which is nuts, statistically. he's the ideal luka partner in many ways. well, the healthy him.

    2. robert's contract is for one year. the issue with mark was that the trade meant you're re-signing him--potentially at big long-term money. you take rob williams and his legs give out again, and you just start over next year. you invest long-term in mark, you might have sunk the remainder of luka's prime. too risky.

anyway, i've been floating the time lord/thybulle idea for months now, so i'm obviously interested. but i think it's on par with a few other possibilites.

i just like that i think you can probably get it for a protected 28 swap or something, which preserves knecht and the 31 first to upgrade in other ways.

Epic choke by Boston, Knicks go up 2-0! (I still think they win the series!)

    C Bags are 0-2.Thry only missed 30 shots today,but still shooting 25 % 10-40
C Bags have missed 75 threes over the last 2 games, the most in any 2-game span in NBA playoff history.

you think the C Bags are coming back in this series? Not a chance. Knicks are winning at least game 3 or 4.

It is not very likely they can come back being 0-2, dropping two games at home. They are getting out-hustled by the Knicks. If we could get OKC-NYK, or MIN-NYK finals, that'd be great.

Don't let the Knicks get down by 20, it's when they're most dangerous

Could we be heading here again?

basketball played during those series was horrific. the quality of these teams at a whole another level this year
Interesting how all these high octane offenses have cooled off now that teams know what you're trying to do and are going full bore on defense

I tried to make the contracts work with Ayton but just couldn't do it. My thought process is the Lakers need a stopper like Thybulle and he's not only elite as they come his 3 point shooting isn't as bad as guys like Dunn and Goodwin who got burn in the playoffs. Plus as @abeer3 pointed if you can platoon Williams with a guy like Kornet or Sharpe you potentially two of the best dudes defensively at their respective positions out of your scraps.

Still need a backup guard with some scoring chops to replace Vincent but while the trade is a definite health risk it actually addresses the team needs by taking a weakness and turning it into a strength

Very strange season..NHL and NBA second round playoffs 8-2 for road teams. Only Toronto who didn't win playoffs series since 2001 up 2-0.

    I just don’t.
    Don’t like his shimmy.
Don’t like seeing his mouthpiece constantly.
Don’t like that he gets to benefit from playing with the dirtiest player of All Time.
Don’t agree that he’s one of the best Point Guards of all time.
Best shooter- yup, but shouldn’t be considered one of the best point guards.
On the other hand, I love Klay- he has Laker blood running through his veins, was an excellent defender before injuries, and went to the High School down the street from where I grew up.
