Let's pretend the Raiders win this week. The Raiders would have a bye and likely play either Pittsburgh or Miami. We want Miami. In fact, of all the playoff teams in the AFC, we want Miami or Houston most. McGloin can beat these teams. Pittsburgh is a likely loss. If we beat Miami, we likely face New England - and lose. KC likely beats us, too. I rank us going into the playoffs this way: New England Pittsburgh Kansas City Oakland Houston Miami
Houston and Miami are both starting backups so we have a good chance in beating either one. Houston though has the number one defense. Denver is "auditioning" Lynch this Sunday. Here's a thought...KC plays at San Diego. Anyone think the Charger players will want to give their fans a likely win in what could possibly their last home game at the Q? McGloin is a disciplined player who can manage. That was a gutsy throw last Saturday to Cooper to end the game.
If there was a time to do so, it would be from here on. They still have a tendency to give up big scoring plays but generally when as a unit settling down they do alright...
Silver (and Black) Linings: Carr's injury show no ligament damage...recovery time to relatively short 6-8 weeks. Mariota's (who I really like as a player and person) is much worse to span five to six months. Speedy recovery to him as well.
Piece of trash - NFL will not review Aldon Smith case until March. For what it's worth, the Raiders can tie their franchise record for wins in a regular season with a W today. It's true that both other seasons came in 14-game seasons, but whatever. A record is a record. Both those teams went on to the SB.
CBS decided to switch that nonsense KC vs SD game and play the Oak game. Good times.. well not that I turned it on and saw Denver Scoring.
We all know why the offense is looking like s***. What's the defense's excuse? 60 yard run up the gut?
I don't think Matt is looking bad. Looks like a little nerves on a couple throws but he doesnt look overall bad. That being said, he needs to make plays to give these boys confidence he can run us in the playoffs.
They can stack the box, take away the run (like they are), and force him to make really hard throws. That's exactly what they've done so far. We need to get something going to make the D respect our passing game a bit.
