Other than the adrenalin that pushed him past Buffalo, his last two outings have been underwhelming. With that injured pinkie, Carr's passes doesn't have the same zip and his touch is off. Everything is out of shotgun. To Carr's credit, as he should he is not making an issue out of it. Detroit's Stafford has the same injury. The offense is sputtering...the defense holds firm when it is called for. Lastly, kudos to Tennessee. Next up for us is Indy while Chiefs get Denver at home.
Carr had better velocity tonight. Aim was a little better. KC was rough. He'll continue to improve as we head into playoffs. And Mario Edwards should return next week. I'm optimistic.
Carr is adjusting to his injured finger. Agree that his play is worlds better than the Chiefs game. Carr had a few misses that normally he'd connect on. That one to Cooper who had his cover beat and the other to Walford who was open. Good to hear Edwards will be back. I wish the same can be said of Aldon Smith...
Man I'm still psyched and pumped up from yesterday. The Raiders finally broke the ceiling and got back into the playoffs. From what I saw in the game I can see Carr making passes instead of just tossing or trying to place it like he did in KC. He needs to really figure it out cause the defense bends and bends but can't live on the edge all game like they have been. Offense has to get back to that high-octane offense if we are going to make any type of run in the playoffs. I'm hyped now lets win out.
AFC West snap counts: - We're in the playoffs. Really beautiful. - Chiefs done in by their former kicker...Reid's "ice the kicker" strategy backfired. Beautiful - Denver DB's and OL's fighting amongst themselves after the loss to New England. Beautiful.
Quick Look at Season Numbers SCORING Janikowski's 121 points are the fifth most for a Raider, and it's the fourth time SeaBass has reached 120+ points. He is at 29 FGM, fifth most in Raider history. PASSING Carr has really cooled off, but he still has the 8th most passing yards and 11th most TD passes in team history for a single season. He joins Daryle Lamonica (3x), Ken Stabler (twice), Rich Gannon (twice), Marc Wilson, and Jay Schroeder as the only Raiders QBs with 11+ wins in a season. RUSHING Murray's 737 yards are 42nd most on the single-season franchise list. RECEIVING Crabree and Cooper are 19th and 23rd in receptions with 77 and 74. Cooper is also 21st in receiving yards, while Crabtree is 44th. YARDS Jalen Richard has 1244 all-purpose yards, the 29th best effort in Raiders history.
We get Edwards back...and then Smith? The latter has kept himself in fine shape during his suspension and can play a reasonable amounts of snaps. Opposing QB's are in for hell. A few more snaps: - good to see Jano nailing kicks. - Nate Allen = solid sub for Joseph. - Crabtree scores a TD, Crabtree throws ball in the air...never fails. - a "slice of blue" yet another term in Raider lore. - Captain Jack, two for two on those challenge flags. - Carr knew where the first down marker was and was aware enough to extend the ball for it. - I can watch NFL TV again and go to Raider sites post 12/8/16.
Given we have needs at the secondary and linebackers... http://www.si.com/nfl/photo/2016/12/16/2017-nfl-draft-prospects-bowl-schedule
Raiders send league high SEVEN to the Pro Bowl. Carr, Mack, Cooper, Osemele, Penn, Hudson, and Nelson. Surprised King didn't make it.
King...along with Gabe Jackson and Crabtree are alternates I believe... Peter King's Top Five MVP candidates: 1. Derek Carr, QB, Oakland. The egg-laying in Kansas City hurts, but there’s very little Carr has done otherwise to denigrate him. The Raiders are 11-3, contenders for the second seed in a strong conference, and week after week Carr has shown he’s the biggest reason why. Our guy is numero uno...
Yes they are....then again, maybe Smith hasn't shown due cause to be reinstated. Great talent but really a knucklehead. In other extremely noteworthy news, Chargers-Browns game scheduled at 10 AM and has been dropped so CBS TV Los Angeles can broadcast our game against the Colts. Note to self: call family members who are huge San Diego fans at around past ten-ish in the morning to remind them to watch their game and quickly hang up. Done in memory of the late Hot Rod Hundley.
Shilique Calhoun shut down for the season. Mario Edwards active and looking at a snap count of 25. Knock that rust off, big man. Calhoun finishes with 5 tackles and a pass defended in his rookie campaign. Not a great showing, but he showed some promise in the pass rush.
