I'm getting the vibe he is not coming back.

Very unlikely we can replace his current production and impact. I only see Watson and Trey having that ceiling from the names available but it's not looking likely we have a way to get them

Denver is saying through their mouthpieces they are getting ready for a 28-32m offer for Watson. So you probably have to go 35+ to get him.

New Orleans is saying they want 3-4 firsts for Trey depending on who is reporting.

I think ultimately Lebron comes back for a decent contract if we can't get anyone else - maybe around 30m.

For what it's worth, the other day Irwin said the most likely scenario he's still hearing is Bron staying on a 2 year/$50m total and how that's broken out is still TBD (guessing depends on the other FA moves).

Shore up 2-3 positions of need for better/good rotational depth and run Big 3 back far as I’m concerned still our best win now this year option and hope for team health come playoff time. Same as every other team.

love that our failure to secure lebron early due to considering other pursuits is an insult, but the warriors pursuit of jock landale first is just good business.

"look, we really love you. been pursuing you for years. but we have a shot at jock landale, so we'll circle back after we figure that out."

    Not really...

It's more so like - GSW: "We don't know what you're doing but would love to have you, so if you're interested reach out and you have a place here."

Where ours is like - LAL: "We are looking at what other parts we can secure first and will circle back to you at the end."

Lebron would be the biggest FA that Golden State could land this offseason for their MLE - whereas, we want to build for the future and are going for big fish first. It is what it is, but let's not paint it what it's not.

huh? this is exactly what i meant. you and the media are acting like gs is prioritizing lebron when they're just expressing a wish/hope. just like we are not prioritizing lebron but rather expressing a hope/wish. if they were prioritizing him, they would say the mle is there and we're not spending it until you make a choice. that's clearly not what's happening.

if we were chasing simons and sexton with the only (small) pot of money we had for lebron...holy hell i can't imagine what everyone would be saying.

I’m saying that GSW would prioritise him straight away if he wanted to come for the MLE, so they’re waiting to hear if he has any interest. I imagine they don’t use the MLE until he gives them an answer.

Whereas, we are trying to fill other holes before we come back to him whatever’s left. One is definitely more insulting than the other. I can’t see how that’s up for debate.

It looks like LeBron is leaving anyway. So this won’t be a problem for much longer.

so you think they're prepared to sit out free agency on the off chance lebron goes there? we'll see. guessing if sexton agrees to take their mle, they won't forego it for the possibility of lebron.

and we've already been over this: it's real easy to be respectful when your choice is all upside.

you know what's insulting? wanting us to pay him double what other teams can offer. works both ways. you're eyeing their mle? why not mine? we hired your son and didn't cut him in favor of a better player last year.

word is he's not meeting with us, essentially complaining that no firm contract offer has been made. which is just classic passive aggressive lebron stuff. like, we can't get any grace, but he needs the ring kissed. is it a partnership or not? whatever, man.
