Or whatever Mark or his people think up money wise. He’s really aggressive and successful in that area with the Dodgers.

Would love to see him back at around $22 million but I also believe the Warriors are probably the best fit for him basketball-wise.

He'll be able to do what he wants with the ball since Steph is off-ball dominant and then you have guys like Butler and Draymond who are perfectly fine just playing defense and getting their touches when LeBron needs a breather.

It would be an old team but I think they'll have great chemistry on the court to be a very good team.

And why would they when no one can? How about half that? That’s still a lot more than MLE which is the most he can get from a contender.

I’m surprised to hear about the Kevin Love thing, but maybe LeBron needs somebody to relate to on his team with all these young guns around lol.

so much for it might be July until he makes up his mind….

Me too. Old, unathletic, bad defenders is the last thing we need more of on this roster. Hopefully this is just a rumor and nothing comes of it.

to me it's the punting of a roster spot this early in the process. absolutely insane. not sure i care who it is, but it being a washed up friend of a player whose son we already employ...

and an underrated problem with the nepo signings is that now you have three untradeable players instead of one. like, we couldn't use bronny as salary ballast in a trade the past couple of years, or could we cut him to make roster room if we needed it (you know, like, to keep jordan goodwin...).

anyway, yes, let's just hope it's bs.

Agree 100%. It doesn't matter how much he makes (it better be the minimum), the actual issue is the lost roster spot, we have waaaay too many of those already, not only tue to nepo signings but also due to other downright terrible signings and draft decisions. You cannot have 33% of your roster be unplayable and pretend to be a contender, it's ridiculous.

I'm not participating in the on-going discussion on the potential improvements we could make because frankly, I lack the knowledge on other teams' players and understanding of the CBA. This (potential) idea is so utterly idiotic though, I may have to drown a beer to calm myself lol.

I wasn't a fan before, but Bronny seems to be on his way to be a useful bench player. I think he's misplaced as a PG, but I suppose he's not tall enough to not get roasted in defense for any other position. But maybe 3rd PG at best.

but to your point, yeah, we'd have 3 people out of 15 that would be untradeable in future moves. I don't like them purple handcuffs and the lack of flexibility that comes with them.

i was never super bent out of shape about bronny. it was the cost of doing business with lebron, and he basically took a paycut in the amount of his son's contract. it did bite us in the a** with goodwin, but i didn't foresee that, and i don't blame people who didn't.

I don’t really see the big issue with Love, roster building allows you use slots in different ways.

    1 - offensive hub (Luka)
    2 - second option (Reaves)
3 - elite two way role player (Lebron)
4 - elite role player (Big)
5 - two way role player (5th Starter)
6 - one way elite skill (Rui)
7 - one way elite skill (Smart)
    8 - defender (1-3 Wing)
    9 - backup big (Hayes)
10 - regular season mins eater (Jake)
11 - regular season backup (Adou)
    12 - development slot (Bronny)
    13 - development slot (?)
14 - vet min leadership (Love)
    15 - open

the timing is the issue. why promise a roster spot to anyone who's not an obvious rotation player until you know what's happened in FA?

again, may be just people yapping, but if it were true...yuck, imo, from a process standpoint.

But maybe the official signing won’t take place until all the other pieces are in place. I guess that’s always a possibility

I think the issue is not in isolation but aggregated to Bronny. You're not really all in on Luka window if 2 spots are non-rotation players that are nepo signings to please your older star.
Like Bronny, in a vacuum it didn't matter so much and to all accounts he was a solid use of #58 pick. But those picks don't get full contracts and it made us lose Goodwin in the process that CLEARLY had a role in the team. It's just the same story again.
When you're already somewhat far from the best teams + don't have a deep squad, winning rotation players in vet mins is one of the ways to bridge that gap and we haven't maximized it for no other reason then pleasing Bron. That's an issue. It's not the end of the world but it's a fact and it hurts us

And btw, you're actually trading a Luka buddy in Kleber for a Bron buddy which is... weird

I think we need to be deeper than what you share. Hayes/Jake need to go down a slot and that 15th slot needs to be a 9th man slot for a backup guard to eat non Luka/AR minutes like Kennard did. Those guys will miss games
