Anthony Davis Has Suffered 18 Injuries In Less Than A Year With The Mavericks
Anthony Davis time in Dallas has been derailed by constant injuries.

Anthony Davis was supposed to change the direction of the Dallas Mavericks. Instead, his first calendar year in Dallas has turned into a constant loop of hope, interruption, and frustration that never quite resets.

Since arriving in Texas, Davis has suffered 18 separate injuries in less than a calendar year. That number alone is jarring. For a franchise centerpiece expected to anchor both ends of the floor, it has been devastating. Every time momentum starts to build, something pulls him back out of the lineup.

i didn't understand the back and forth today. was AD suggesting he wasn't getting surgery or that he wasn't going to be traded, as both were "reported".

i believe stein. especially about dallas stuff, as he got his start there i think.

anyway, again--for the sake of everyone--they need to trade AD. just expirings is enough, imo. you just can't trust his health. it's worth the gamble if you're a playoff team that needs an impact big.

i still think atlanta should just pull the trigger on kp/kennard/risacher for AD. no picks necessary. the risk is AD misses the rest of the year? well, porzingis might, too! the only cost is risacher, whom you've kind of signaled that you don't care too much about.

for dallas: give up on the idea of getting a draft pick haul. be happy to get out from under the contract and the ensuing issues with the extension (hell no. no. i love AD. but no.). you have cooper flagg. clear all the vets tomorrow. keep washington, lively, and flagg. probably keep christie, nembhard, williams, and cisse. everyone else should be sold for salary relief and whatever picks you can get.

gafford can fetch three seconds, imo (he's a DFS-level pickup).
klay maybe one, or you just move him where he wants for expiring money and everyone's happy.

i could understand keeping irving if he wants to stay, as he seems happy in dallas, which was true basically nowhere else in his career.

but they should be wide open for business. they own their pick this year (TANK), but not next year.

no surgery for AD. will be reevaluated in 6 weeks

this deal is a no-brainer for both teams, imo. nico's gone. you don't have to hold out for more from AD due to that bad trade. rip the bandaid off and let the guy go play somewhere where he won't be constantly compared to a 26 year old perennial all-nba guy who didn't want to leave.
