Waiting for sources to confirm: DWade and Pat Riley has locked up James in his Akron home. James not returning Dan's calls.
Gilbert driving around South Beach desperately seeking help trying to find phone numbers of James' relatives...
Why even sign a 2 year deal if you're LeBron? Is it insurance in case he gets injured? You know he's going to opt out after this year so I have to think Year 2 is just injury insurance. Though if anyone would re-sign an injured LeBron for the max it'd be Dan Gilbert.
Yeah it's 1+1 so that he can take advantage of the new salary cap next year, but have an extra 20 million just in case he busts his knee or something.
I figured...still though I think my point stands that even if he busts a knee and had a 1 year deal, Comic Sans would still sign him to the max. I get it though.
Well sure, but what if it's something even more catastrophic? What if he can't play anymore? One more year gives him 24 extra bones. I'd do it.
Considering what a cry baby Dan Gilbert is...I really wish Cleveland sucks till the end of time. Just can't stand this idiot of an owner.
i just don't get it.. if you're making $20,000,000 what is the point of an extra $5,000,000? like what can you even do with all that $
Really? Rich people spend a lot, they live the rich lifestyle, 5 mil is a lot. Plus, unless I'm wrong, a good chunk goes to taxes. I forget that figure of how many pro athletes go broke not long after retirement, but it's a big one. Money stops coming in, they don't stop living like it has, they go broke. Plus I believe LeBron said he wants to be a billionaire one time, maybe own a team.
Obviously taxes vary from state to state but I read Kobe only get 12 M net ouf of the gross 23.5 millions after taxes and agent commission ... Iso Joe was basically the most "net' paid NBA player last season ... Can't and don't feel sorry for them but 50% is a lot ....
Is that a serious question? When given the opportunity to make an extra 50 dollars I do it. What possible reason could you have NOT to get an extra 5 million if the opportunity is there? Really?
So...ancient swingman Richard Jefferson to sign with the Cavs. For what? $50 per game and a bag of Spicy Doritos? Added notes: Jefferson who originally committed to Dallas...called AND spoke to Cuban about his change in decision. Cuban even confirmed so...said he understood his reasons. Imagine such a thing?! Wow...
Man, i've never seen anything like this. I thought we were the "former star magnet" when we signed Rice, Richmond, J.R... Bron must be a great person/teammate, right???
Allegedly James prefaces every call by saying "This is The King..." Really? Seriously? I've never heard of anyone do such a thing if true... If so, then I can certainly understand the allure [/sarcasm]
How many players do the Cavs have now, 30? And they're still trying to sign Thompson and Smith, right? How?
And Dellavedova too. Kyrie/Dellavedova Shumpert/M. Williams/Joe Harris Smith/Jefferson/Miller Love/Thompson Mozgov/Varejao/Haywood Did I miss anyone? That doesn't include their two 2nd rounders from this season or James Jones who is likely to return...
They said on PTI if they signed JR back for what he's asking, which isn't much really, it would cost the Cavs 16 mil in luxury taxes. The question was about JR's judgment in opting out. Yeah, probably not smart, doesn't appear to be a lot of takers. After his shooting performance in the Finals when he had a prime opportunity to step up and vanished, if I'm the Cavs I say goodbye and good luck.
And yet, if the Cavs fail to win next year, the story will be how LeBron carried them on his mighty back as far as he could, and that if he only had a legit roster around him...
"The King" really needs all this help huh. If I were his teammates I'd be mad, if they lose its because he has no help but if they win it was all Lebron.
