I agree that managing the personalities is a huge task here. He’s got multiple stats and big personalities to balance in the locker room and that’s before he gets to the front office.
not to beat a dead horse, but frank wouldn't save us. tryonn christ wouldn't save us. just like switching rob for masai ujiri wouldn't save us. we have to ride out the russ storm and hope to recover quickly.
Ujiri would 100% construct a better roster than Rob did. He also wouldn't trade/lost AC, Zubac and few others.
that's one way of riding out the russ storm. the other is we wait until the end of the year and just be past it all. i think ham can succeed with a better roster.
disagree. if rob had an open checkbook, caruso would still be here. it's possible he wouldn't have lost those others, i guess. though that was all during the drunk magic era. and ujiri would have had magic, too. this is why i always come back to ownership as the root of the issue. ujiri wouldn't take our job because of organizational structure. also, it's not like toronto (and <insert literally any other team here>) doesn't have its share of missteps. i'm a firm believer in the idea that there are no "good gms" only bad ones. and there's really only a few of those because they quickly lose their jobs and aren't re-hired. i don't think rob's a bad gm. i think magic was a terrible president of basketball operations, and he'll never work in a decision-making role in the nba again.
It isn't Ham's fault AD is hurt but his lineups have been excruciatingly bad. We would have more wins with Frank. Two or three more would be huge right now. I am glad Russ is accepting his role and will give some credit to Ham for that. I also think Russ didn't have any choice. Either accept the role or his NBA career was going down the toilet.
Our starting 5 is an insult to basketball. Beverly will never start on any other team or even stay on any other team.
yeah, my point was that people who make a living on these things were pretty sure we were going to be the inferior squad. i'm glad we won it, but we're screwed in general.
He's still playing 4 guard lineup...there's no reason for it but he still makes it happen somehow. I guess at least he didn't go to the 5 guard lineup this game...we need to be playing Thomas Bryant 30+ mpg. He always produces and he's a motor out there. I think once we make a damn trade of bev/nunn we'll finally see a more balanced roster and balanced starting lineup. Having Bev is really hurting us right now....but ok I'll give him credit for finally knocking down his 3's. We need him to hit those in order for him to be an asset for us especially in the starting lineup.
if bevs rediscovers his threeball, he could make the knicks much more interested. enough that maybe they'd give us some picks...
