As I’ve been saying since the season began, the FO did him no favors with this roster. That’s starting to really sink in.
The Rambii have final say though, coach only has so much power, have to lean on the wisdom of Kurt and Linda.
In many cases that is true. I'm not sure that is the case here. It could be. When you are undermanned starting that third quarter is where you get exposed for whatever reason. That is where your stars really have to step up. Just watching these games it just looks from a talent perspective we are way short. Ham says the right things most of the time so he does seem to as least know what to do.
Teams adjust after halftime. Apparently, we don't. And teams that are playing us like Utah are killing our pick in roll coverage.
If it wasn't for Russ coming of the bench (and playing great), Ham wouldn't be any better than Frank...
First time head coach. Growing pains was inevitable. Part of the reason I thought we needed to put a better roster in place for him to work with.
could be that he doesn't want the team thinking that they're going to get moved. i get it. you're in it. figure it out or keep losing a lot right here. on second listen, i think that's really what the meandering response was about. how do you keep the stars from quitting like they did last year (was basically the question)? strange to me that he immediately jumped to the poor construction of the team, salary-wise, though. could have gone several ways, but he basically went right to: we've got a ton of cash locked up in three guys and the teams beating us don't. and that's...yikes... he tried to walk it back when the reporter asked the right follow up (do you need more from the stars?). he said no. so he's pinning the performance on our low-paid, inexperienced young players? that's pretty weak. otherwise, he's pinning it on management. but you came in saying you could work with this roster.
His own inexperience plays a part here too IMO. Got too candid and tried to walk it back but once that is out there you can't. Growing pains.
This is a rather alarming answer to be honest. Its what us fans have been saying for awhile but to hear from someone on the team…
Sounds like no help is coming, and that's a healthy mindset to have. The team needs to embrace "next man up" and "nobody is coming to save us" mentality.
Short handed was just referencing yesterdays game. I'm not counting on Thomas and Shroeder for much...lol.
I don’t understand this take. Lots of people on social media acting like this quote is a bad look for Darvin but I just don’t get it. There’s nothing wrong with being honest about the reality of our situation.
A direct shot at the King and AD IMO. Step up and play better dudes, we aren't shuffling the deck around you this season if you can't play any better than this.
