On Slam Dunk on Channel 7...everyone gave KCP 65% of the votes as who played the best tonight. James and Davis were second and third. Crazy but true!
KCP bouncing back is the summary of his Lakers tenure . He's been terrible and good so many times . One thing he's not is a mental midget . He showed up at a crucial time
Showed up when we needed him most. If we go on to win this, he’ll forever have the respect of Lakernation for his Game 4 heroics.
I agree with everyone here - he's entered the Robert Horry / Derek Fisher / Rick Fox / Trevor Ariza / Ron Artest territory for Laker Nation. He's made some HUUUUUGE plays for us down the stretch and also - did anyone notice he had 5 assists too? He was making the right plays down the stretch and getting AD easy looks. Best part is - we got him again for 8M next season - bargain price if you ask me.
He’s got a player option next year. Hope he picks it up. He’ll probably be offered more from another team. Great game for him tonight. We don’t win this game without his contributions.
OX said it a couple games back that KCP (has been hitting huge momentum of the other team stopping shots). BIG shots by definition.
Dare I say Playoff Pope he must have sipped on Playoff Rondo's Gatorade. Everybody wanted some Kawhi "Choking hazard small parts" Leonard or Paul "Dr. Heimlich" George but when it comes to clutch "I'd rather be the Pope." to quote Prince. "I ain't scared of you m***erf****rs" Bernie Mac sampled in this song and applies to KCP and bigtime shots. If George wants to taste greatness he can line up and kiss the ring when KCP wins one. Warning NSFW cuss words.
WOW...that is actually insane. KCP is in elite company then....surprised that Fisher and Horry aren't up there with all the clutch shots they've made for us. I gotta give credit to DWIGHT for helping KCP when everyone was trashing him to start the year....I'll never forget what Dwight said on social media and to the media regarding KCP...that's when I knew Dwight had turned the corner.
remember that fisher and horry played when teams shot 20 or fewer 3s a game instead of 30 or more. also, we only 4-14 on open threes aside from kcp, which isn't great.
The funny thing is I'm watching ESPN afterward and Tim Legler is talking about all the open 3s that Miami missed and all the tough contested 3's we made....uhhhh...I"m fairly sure we've missed the same amount if not more on open 3s that Miami has...imagine if we had hit half of our missed open 3s. It would be a blow out.
We missed like 8 open 3s to start the 4th... Miami were the ones that got a couple of very lucky 3s bank in
KCP was superb last night. Great D, timely shots and played a major factor in us getting the win. Huge props!!
I never thought KCP's contract was overpaid. I mean, 26 minutes per game as our primary or 2nd primary perimeter defender, he's always healthy and ready to play, and has been our best shooter this entire season. I think you could make a solid argument that KCP is probably underpaid. If we didn't sign Danny Green and if that stupid Luol Deng contract was gone, we'd have $21 million in cap space extra this season... We could have gotten our third star right there. Damn it!
