    Is a tear or torn the same as completely ruptured like Kobe's? Asked in the NBA Injuries section too but was just going to reply Elton Brand came back but wasn't the same player though still effective at some % of what he was at his peak.

    As much as we sucked the latest 5 seasons , Lakers FO better be solid and not puppets , because signing Lebron , the player , coach and GM in his 16th season may not be as worthy as we think ...

    The currrent soap opera in Cleveland tells you a lot about his "leadership" too

    LT, it really doesn't matter cause a partial tear can progress to full on rupture. Even with a slight tear, you will be in a cast for months and due to its location, it is poorly vascularised to really repair itself. This is why when there is a tear you want to get to surgery immediately, cause the tendon will lose its vitality over an extended period of time.

    But from the sounds of it, it seems like a full rupture via Amick and Shams.

    We have sooooo many more options available than just signing two max salaries, and ultimately one of those options will be used. (Crosses fingers)

    The way I see it there's zero chance of signing one max salary this summer. George isn't coming here over OKC alone. LeBron isn't coming here alone.

    So it's two max deals or we punt again. I hope you all are so happy with punting and marrying ourselves to this young group. I like them a lot, but even if they have the talent to get us a ring, it's not happening any time soon. We'll be lucky to make the Playoffs within the next couple years let alone be truly competitive. We can expedite that and I pray we do because actually trying to build with this young group is going to take a long time. Or if we're lucky we play the 2019 FA game. I'm sure many will be eager for that just because LeBron is a narcissist. Not me though. I'd rather be good tomorrow.

    I don’t think it’s a lock that PG only comes here with another star. He may get tired of playing 2nd fiddle in OKC and see a talented up and coming team where he can be the alpha again. You very well may be right, but I think PG is a toss up right now regardless of what Lebron does.

    I'm not counting on that. The Thunder are not old and they're more competitive right now than we are. Their path to success is much easier than ours. George himself has said he'll only come here if it's as an "avalanche" of other players joining. It'd be a godsend if he made the jump himself, but I can't count on that at all. I think it's more likely we bring back Brook one a big one year deal, find another wing for Pope's 17 million and punt away for 2019. I can already see the fans here up in arms over that. Keep in mind we'll also have to pay to keep Julius and soon our cheap young players will need extensions. We'll be stuck in the same trap as all the perennial lottery teams.

    I’m just having trouble seeing both Lebron and George come over. I’d prefer to prepare for life without either, but go after George instead of risking getting yanked around by LBJ.

    I'm not saying we shouldn't pursue them, but there's little hope in my opinion unless we have both. The only reason George has to come here really if not for another big player is nostalgia and we shouldn't count on that being enough. I'd love to be wrong, I just don't see it.

    Therefore, I don't see how fans can so easily write off LeBron when we're out here looking at 30 wins as a victory for the year and next year is likely to be close to the same.

    The full article points out that LeBron's antics have been mostly worth it wherever he goes because well... they win.

    But it's all well said and a good article. It calls into question the type of power he'll wield at his next stop. I believe if he signs a 4/max deal, he'll lose most power. If he's locked in, he can't hold a franchise hostage. He can still pout and demand, but as long as he's involved and informed, there's not a lot he can say or do like he's done in Cleveland.

    It's definitely possible that he demands a lot before signing. It's possible he demands that we create room for one more max player and then we trade one or two kids for a more established star, but much like with George: why would he demand we trade them all? He needs effective, young players to succeed at this stage in his career. And if he wanted to sign here it's at least in part because of the players we have now. So why would he sign here and then gut the whole roster? It's one thing to want some vets instead of youngsters, but like the article said: that was a mistake on LeBron's part. Does he make that mistake again?

    Superstars players who want to win their way don't change imo , the older they get the "worse" it becomes .

    In addition , I believe he's slowing down contrary to the popular belief which chooses to ignore his weaknesses on D . ( won't cut it against GS )

    I think he's got two years left at a high level ( the five implied in the article sounds crazy , maybe in the "old" NBA but not in today's one).

    "An MRI after the game revealed a full tear of the Achilles, reported Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports, which will end Cousins' season after 48 games. A person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports but requested anonymity because the injury wasn't yet announced publicly."

    Ahh, here is what happened, but don't tell anyone. Hahhahahha. Ok.

    This is a major blow for the Lakers. PG and Cousins were my realistic pick ups in the off season in two key positions the Lakers need at the 2 and 5 positions.

    ok, so if they're nowhere near as good as shaq/kobe, and shaq and kobe only won three titles together...why is everyone so scared (which was the real point of that section)? gs is beatable, even with durant. and they'll have to deal with injuries and whatnot just like everyone else. i'm tired of the line that nobody wants to build for now because they can't beat gs. i'm even more annoyed that houston is the only team taking the idea that they can be beaten seriously, which means that by default, when durant turns an ankle, houston gets a title.

    It's because GS has a much, much better supporting cast. Kobe and Shaq had very good role players, Steph and Durant have Klay and Green, with Igoudala coming off the bench.

    i'm in the camp that sees green as a glorified role player and iguodala as close to washed up (have you watched him this year?). they're super thin after their big three, and klay isn't close to curry/durant level, imo.

    they can lose, and i wouldn't let that roster deter me from trying to win now.
