to get jones, we'd have had to choose him over mamu. if you believe svtzr, that was a no-brainer. the other issue was timing as we could secure mamu's services without waiting out RFA. so i get why we didn't go that way.

we could have also tried to clear extra space to make a similar offer, but doing so would have required assets, and if denver matched, we'd be out those assets with no target.

it was a clever bit of business by okc do clear just enough under the 2nd apron to offer tpmle, but i can't imagine denver lets him walk at that price.

 

Fine, twist my arm and Denver can send us Cam Johnson for Vando, Dalton, and a 2nd to save some money.

 

If they don't match on Jones and they stretch Vando and Nnaji after that trade, it could open up about 25 million for Watson.

 

It’s pretty clear LeBron didn’t like playing with Luka said the right things. But didn’t like saying it was Luka’s team. Didn’t like AD being traded. That was his guy. Lebron always has to have an effective big. Us not having that made him really not want to play for us. You see his attempt to get AD and then choose Embidd. He was done with us. Will go to be the 4th option. But never wanted to be a 3rd option here. Not for Luka and AR. Maybe AR he thinks never will be a second option to him who was undrafted and probably the but of jokes in training camp.

Luka he doesn’t respect him because Luka doesn’t work as hard as him. Especially in the off-season. He sees this is Luka’s team. How the front office acts about him. The fans. Who don’t have the vitriol towards him that they do and did for LeBron and he won a championship.

What baffles me people in here. Media write the Lakers off as not being title contenders. But the team still has Luka. I thought any team with Luka has a shot at the championship. I think they are doing their best to put a team that can win a championship around Luka. Teams just don’t want to help the Lakers that’s all. They are one final move away from it. Yeah, but the difference between getting Luka a center and getting AD a center is night and day. Luka thrives with vertical spacers and he in-turn significantly raises the level of the play for those type of players.

AD, however made zero sense asking for a center. AD himself is a center, and having a center does nothing to open up his game and help the team, it just clogs the lane even more. And he does nothing to raise the play of other centers.

It's not a fair argument when people try to compare Luka wanting a center and AD wanting a center. Makes no sense at all. I'm old school and I like myself some nostalgia and a good double big lineup dont get me wrong, but AD made absolutely no sense watning to be a 4. If he was a 3-pt shooter he could make a good argument for it, but he shota bunch of inefficient ong two's.

 

feel like the nuggets should be able to dump cam johnson pretty easily. charlotte, boston, memphis, and milwaukee all have TEs big enough.

edit: my preference would be charlotte, as it would potentially make it harder for cleveland to get kuminga by limiting the teams that could eat their contracts.

Don't hold your breath for that while you're over the moon with him being gone. If they're reasonably healthy and James is playing, not looking forward to any of those games.

 

From one of the worst, to probably the best contract/deal in the NBA. EVERY SINGLE team, would LOVE to have Bron for 4mil/year. If any fan is saying otherwise, they're lying.
