well, i don't think he ever has (pretty sure he doesn't drink). i continue to stand up for fox. he had some bad moments, but i think without him they don't get past okc (their younger guards were a mess against that pressure, imo), and he was playing on a pretty serious ankle injury. i don't think he's truly a choker or a low iq guy. it's just the magnifying glass of the finals. wemby had some real bonehead s*** in the finals, too, and nobody says much about it. anyway, the spurs will keep fox, he'll start and they'll win 60+ games again and advance in the playoffs, where i expect he'll play well. if this is a repeat performance, then i'll agree with the talk radio rage that's happening right now, though. welcome back, jsm!
Yeah, I think he has another celebratory vice Injuries don't affect IQ, he had some loud mistakes when the lights got the brightest. He also has a history with one of the league's worst teams and was called out by now the championship HC. I agree, they don't get there without him this year. But i think moving forward, those guards need and earned the minutes. They know what it takes, let them finesse the bumps in the regular season next year while you're still paying them pennies vs value. You can't do both, ask GS. Difference between him and Wemby is 6 years, roughly $34m and that one is already in GOAT discussions pending injuries. Fox could be a top 5 PG until he retires and he's not sniffing that convo. That buys you some goodwill.
Why is Washington paying Benny Blanco 212 mil? Why? He has already shown signs of decline while at Atlanta. Weird. How many bad contracts have Wash handed out over the years?
I'm also a bit confused by the amount Miami was willing to give up. They have two very solid starters, and I'm not sure who else. Had to look it up. I know Jovic, also a big. Portis. A big. Andrew Wiggins. Wing. Normal Powell Guard. They must feel that several of their players will thrive alongside another star or guys are ready to take the next step in their development.
Yeah they paid a lot, they were desperate. They can't really do anything else and will add in the margins. Should get a couple good vet mins like THJ and alike. They have a solid 5 with Mitchell, Powell, Wiggins, Giannis and Bam. It's not an instant contender but is very good defensively and Powell played nearly all-star level for some stretches. I think he will be great next year On the bench they have Portis, Larsson is a very good player, Dru Smith is a good defender and Jovic good all around. They probably add a couple shooters and a big man. Might have some room exception available They also have Spo who will squeeze that team to the max. I see them struggle in clutch time but they can be really incredible defensively
yeah, miami will get a couple guys (both vets and young guys) to sign up on cheap 1 year deals to either ring chase or prove-it malik monk style. also, word was that they had been canvassing the league for secondary trades, so i'm guessing they're not done on that front.
that's actually pretty interesting But is it a better situation than here? Have to think that's a no. And if Riles won't let him have his cookies on the plane, it's probably a no go lol.
i think gs is going to get murphy today, and then i'm wondering if lebron starts eyeing that roster a bit more.
Yeah Pelicans must love that #11 pick. Any team with this year's picks can definitely entice NOLA to trade Murphy. They have only the #58, they really need picks. Clippers with the #5, Atlanta #8, Mavs #9, OKC #12 and #17. I think these teams can all get in a deal with NOLA. Too bad we only have the #25. Hope we get someone out of them. Trey, Herb, Missi, Bey all interest me
the unsurprising word is that the grizz want off morant. he's been bad for two years, and is a complete off-court nightmare. but is someone desperate enough to try it? most of the usual suspects are either in rehab (atlanta), already got their discarded star (washington), or just drafted someone at his position (sacramento). i've thought NO would consider it (jordan poole outgoing), but i have no idea what they're thinking. i don't think bkn would let him near their youngsters. miami got giannis. chicago needs guard help and can absorb salary, but...i'm struggling to come up with options for memphis to get off morant. they might be totally stuck.
I would say Charlotte if that Trade X was $1.5m larger. They could absorb him without giving up anything and with Bridges, they've shown they give zero s***s about rostering problematic players. If the Grizz really want off the train, they might just have him sit at home on the couch until an injury happens to a starting guard this season or another team fails to meet expectations and gets a little desperate. OR they can attach one of their upcoming firsts, teams might be willing to listen then.
