Huge game, absolutely huge. This is a game the team last year chokes away because we don’t have a Marcus Smart to make those huge plays. I think it was Zen who called his steal and layup late Fisher-esque, and it was.
Smart has been a huge pickup. The will to win just bleeds through to the team. I saw him hyping Ayton up at the start of OT and it translated into a really good stretch. Great leadership and play tonight.
He's been on an upswing The volatility with his jumper is just bonkers. It's difference between the Lakers being a finals contender vs out in the first round lol
He's always been like that but you can live with it because he hustles every play. Such a winning player. I'm ecstatic he's been healthy this season. Him being out really forces Austin/Luka to play defense in a way they aren't capable of. Quickly becoming a fan-favorite here and hope the Lakers can snag him for the next few years
Constantly impacting clutch games on both sides of the floor Absolutely a mist stay in this roster, one of the best signings of the league this summer. We need 2 more of him, Dort and Eason fit the bill
Makes you realize how much better we would be with one more guy who can play both sides of the ball. I have always felt that despite people saying that Smart was a detriment to our offense, he was a threat and he gets hot once in awhile. When he plays like this along with AR and Luka, then you have Lebron giving us a solid all around game and 15 points, we are going to be hard to beat. Of course Smart is not going to give you a game like this consistently. If we could find a guy who could do that, we would be incredibly good.
