I was cheering for him to do well today. AD in form in Sacramento doing the reverse Christopher Walken by heating up to a fever and prescribing less cowbell. I hope they can beat Memphis too.

so far he looks like he's playing uninspired and non dominant, and getting run off of the floor. He truly needs someone to set him up on offense. Very beta-ish.

Memphis looks like they will blow them out unless something dramatic changes. 29-14 so far, and it doesn't even look that close. 4:03 left in the 1st.

I love AD, but tonight Dallas vs Memphis in the play-ins, would basically be what our future would look like post-LeBron, with no Luka. Maybe slightly better because of Reaves.

when I watched them play, I saw a guy with very little impact at key moments. Basically stat padding vs take over and make it happen.

Sorry, this guy is who he is. 40/9 looks like a good game, but in reality, he was mediocre when it mattered.

I would not want to be Nico today.

I thought about doing a thread of fake LeBron AI interviews. That could get spicy.

i think they'll still try to roll with him at the 4. flagg honestly needs to be able to play some sf at the next level, as he's not as big as he looks in the college game. better off as a big 3 than a small 4, imo.

mavs need to move washington now, which is tough because he's played well and i think is a fan favorite. but his spot is flagg's, and he's got some trade value right now, i'd think. they need a perimeter scorer, particularly while kyrie's out.

i wonder if they can get something extra back if they take a colin sexton type in return for washington.

mavs could also opt the other way and just sell everyone but flagg, tbh. that gives them a couple years to get things in order around the new star. if they do a one-year tank, they don't owe their 2026 pick. starting in 2027, they don't control their pick for 4 years.

curious to see how they play it. i think i might actually strip the whole thing down this summer, tbh.

send AD to chicago for expirings (huerter, collins) and maybe dosunmu.

washington for expirings and a first (same price you paid for him).

    thompson for expiring matching salary.

let kyrie walk or s&t him to his choice in return for mostly expiring salary, too.

you'd roll into 2026-27 with flagg, a lotto pick, and entirely clean books.

    it's tempting...

why not? he could have gotten to utah, washington, or charlotte and been in the same situation. this is what happens when you're that big a prospect.

but yeah, they could (and probably will) just try to be good right away. and that could work, too. i just think it's easier to fire harrison and undo everything he's done.

You can't trade Luka and then not make the playoffs for whatever more years

They will compete and they have a damn good team

i just think kyrie's injury is too big a hurdle in a very crowded west. they're going to have a ton of salary in streetclothes and no good way to replace the production next year.

i agree they probably won't blow it up, but they should, imo.
