If this is a real quote add this to the long list of stupid Charles quotes and statements. But I’ve heard similar sentiments by fans and media, which I don’t get at all.

LeBron is 40 years old, he’s not in his prime anymore (yet is still playing unbelievably) and is our defensive anchor right now which is insane. If the Lakers lose this series it has very little to do with Luka or LeBron it’s because they were outmatched in this series and poor roster construction.

Every year is the year that decides Lebron's place in history. Beyond silly at this point.

Roster or matchups or not - last two games came down to the last 3 minutes. Logo chucks and sloppy ball handling matter.

Lebron and the Lakers never looked the same after that C Bags game. Groin injury really seemed to derail chemistry and Lebron jumper

Embarrassing series and embarrassing look for the franchise, and especially LeBron. For as great as he is, his Laker track record isn't fantastic. In his 7 years as a Laker we've missed the playoffs twice and bounced in the 1st round 3x. It might be time to part ways and free up cap space to build around our future.

What sucks is, even if he walks we don’t really free up any meaningful money, so we’re still better with him. Just have to hope he takes less to at least get us like the MLE to use. Have to think next year is his farewell tour, and honestly at this moment I’m not looking forward to that and would rather just be moving on with Luka as well. I’m appreciative that LeBron brought us back to relevance and got us that title, but at the same time LeBron teams seem to quit a lot. They quit in this series, they didn’t want it as much as Minnesota, and I’m not saying we should have won the whole thing, but we should have gotten more than 1 game.

I’m ready to just move on to the next era already. And I know Bron was injured, I know he’s still great, but I don’t know I think he’s just at the end now. He gave his all, but you can also see a level of satisfaction with what he’s done already there, and justifiably so to a degree, just maybe not making as much money or taking as much of the salary cap up if that’s going to be the case. I think it’s going to take 2-3 years to fully build around Luka, I just hope he sticks around for that.

I think the turning point of this season was when Lebron went after A Smith after a Lakers game defending his son. The Lakers felt distracted and not in sync right after that. He made it about himself and not the team.

he's still somehow able to play at a high level which is unheard of for a guy his age, but its very obvious father time has caught up to lebron. he's probably got one more playoff run in him and that's it

curious to see if they go all in this offseason for one last title run with lebron, or if they bring in pieces to build for the future around luka

Yeah can’t forget he made us relevant again. We had some really fun moments while he’s been here. I respect the crap out of how he still looks at this age. I wonder if there were lingering injuries or if he was understandably gassed after the 38 piece, he just looked a couple steps slower last couple games.

Yeah we would need to upgrade if we part with LeBron and that just might not be possible, though Giannis may be the most tradeable he’s ever been. I really don’t like the farewell tour because it’s just another distraction for the team and especially Luka. It seems like Luka wants to stay, I don’t see him as a ring chaser type I think he’d like a team built around him as the 1a. I personally feel that he’s more of a 1b unless he gets into shape and can start being relied on defensively, and lead his team defensively. He has the size for it. But if he just isn’t that guy, it’s fine. Then I definitely like a Giannis and it’d be a Kobe Shaq dynamic where they’re both alphas. But yeah this is all pipe because of course LeBron wants a farewell tour specifically as a Laker. And LeBron always gets what he wants.

I can imagine him being even friendlier than ever before with opposing players. Might as well just throw away next season too.
