He seems like a great guy, but unfortunately Ham is making rookie mistakes on a regular basis. I don't know what to say about it.
You can't make rookie mistakes, you are not a f***ing rookie. You've been an assistant for a goddamn decade. What, you never knew what that break at the end of games was? And what the other coach-type men were doing with that plastic board and a marker? Moron. We sure know how to pick them. Vogel died for this s***.
The coach doesn't have a lot to work with, but he is not doing a good job. Hopefully the Lakers make transactions to improve the team. But they need to also keep a watch on the coach. What other coaches are available out there?
I am fuming here. Goddamn. It should be f***ing automatic. You down 2 with 20 seconds to go -- it's a TO. I have a theory though... He is so bad at drawing OT plays that he fears them, so he froze out of fear. Great quality for a coach.
This is a lost season to me anyway. You don’t hire a rookie coach in LeBron’s last few years, too many things that could go wrong will go wrong. I like Ham though, he can motivate players well, but not a great play caller at this point.
Meh..he definitely needs to tighten up at the end of games. Yet we wouldn't even be in these games, if he couldn't coach. He trust in the players judgment a bit much..Heat of the moment..anything can happen.
He's a rookie coach but some of the stuff he does is so basic - he just needs a tweak. Who are his assistants? We need someone that can tell him to cut the crap sometimes...feel like this is Luke Walton again where nobody on his caoching staff can set him straight. Vogel had several former HC's on his staff that could tell him to cut the crap...coincidentally I feel like when Jason Kidd left, Vogel started doing stupid s*** with his rotations.
The rotations aren't the problem, everybody keeps harping on that, without recognizing that, they are what is keeping us in these games. It's the late game execution that's killing us.
l heard Worthy say as I was leaving the room in disgust at the ending that actually maybe a better chance if their defense couldn’t get set like they would be after a time out. I think they definitely should have called one or Russ not get too fancy with his dribble in that situation. All they needed was someone to get a good drive to the basket either way, and get a score or draw the foul. Or an open J.
People keep talking about 3pt shooting, this offense is designed to be successful with small players that can attack off the dribble too. He's working the hell out of that without AD.
That's BS what Worthy said. You call a TO. Problem is... the drawn play would probably be even worse.
Welp. He's ride or die for his guys. Might be why they are playing hard for him. Still should have called a TO though.
I don’t know really. Russ in the open court with the way he had been playing and all we needed was two points or a fowl. Worthy kind of said the same thing. Too bad Russ lost his dribble momentarily and lost the edge with the clock. Persomally I think a TO would have been the right call.
