I think this staff will be empowered to hold guys accountable no matter who they are and that’s definitely a good thing.
Imagine how freeing it is to not run every idea you have by Kurt Rambis or his wife. Or to have your elbows touching during a coaching meeting.
Any word on if this guy will actually be one of the main assistants on the bench? If so, between Handy, Jent, Rimmer, and now Ott, do we even have any more spots on the staff? Or is Rimmer going to be more of a video coordinator role? I kinda wanted someone with good HC experience on the staff as well.
The fans in Brooklyn didn't really care for the offense from some of the response I seen earlier this week, but you know what? I don't care. Excellent hire. Think the staff is shaping up great. Very optimistic.
Ham must love him some tape. Being a video coordinator appears to be the way to his heart. Guess he's prepping to ram all the lowlight packages down Russ' throat if we can't move him. Liking the hires. Wonder how many more are left? Two? Experienced guy + Sheed?
Don't know any of these assistants really, so I guess I'm encouraged we aren't hiring retreads with no championship success. Might as well try something new.
I like that all the recent hires are guys I’ve never heard of before, but I do like them after a little research. These guys put in the work. I remember Ham saying he wants someone with prominent head coaching experience on his staff and I wonder if thats still happening.
If nothing else, this staff should be hungry to prove they belong on the biggest stage in all of basketball. Hopefully it’ll translate to the players too.
I'd like to see the salaries for these guys, it feels like we are going with an entire "prove yourself" type of staff. I expect a high level of energy and enthusiasm, that should be great for young guys and might be a clue as to the direction on how we are looking to fill out the roster.
