Kcp is underpaid for his contributions (and considering the money he gave up elsewhere) and is frequently in team friendly one year deals. In the playoffs he is so far our best shooter, defends superstar and all star guards, and gives the team speed on both sides. And if he starts tapping into other parts of his offensive skill set these next rounds watch out. Don’t forget he was scoring in the teens consistently for stretches here (and he’s done it In detroit) he is manna glad the team kept him in the fold for a role like this and this is great deep playoff experience for him moving forward as well
underpaid my a**....hes overpaid, House of Hou makes 3M and is capable of doing same thing and what about the 2yrs prior at 20m and 18m?
You overpay a bit for the flexibility of a 1 year and he outplays his 8 million or whatever either way. I think he is underrapreciated and underrated by lakers fans. And no I’m not kcp (I doubt he comes on sites like these or I hope not lol) I’m a longtime laker fan and lurker around these parts but I do think he’s underrated and underrapreciated by most laker fans here and elsewhere
As for previous contracts good for him get as much as you can on a one year from a player perspective and from team perspective im glad the lakers did that back then so they could keep him in the fold on a lower salary now as we push for a championship. To me that’s good foresight and contract management by the team and he’s been vital these last two rounds
he owes us back $ for those 2 yrs no other team was ever gona give him those types of $, klutch took advantage of their power
hes owes it in performance, he did not earn either 20m nor the 18m....dont embarrass yourself with the underpaid garbage
Owes it to who? And no team would give him that money? He turned down four years 80 million or something like that of guaranteed money and ended up here on one year deals worth less but I don’t really care too much about how much a guy is making as long as the team is managing contracts in a way to field a contending roster which they have!
he turned it down cause he stupid n thought he deserved max $ lol, klutch used their power to makeup for their stupid mistake
Well whatever again I’m not too concerned about players agencies and contract details and people’s choices and motivations I mean who knows really but if it was a mistake as you say and klutch used their power as an agency to try to recoup some money for their client then I guess good for klutch and good for kcp and good for us as fans and good for the org cuz he’s here now and part of our push instead of elsewhere and we have a well constructed team that could go all the way. Or maybe he wanted to be here or who knows. But Whether or not all this was by design, kcp or any of the other players, and the various paths players took to end up on this roster right now the lakers are in a hell of a position assembling this roster and coaching staff of course there still a ways to go as a team it’s just nice to see this come together and the team be able to get this kind of a squad under the salary cap at this moment, with players that fit and play well together and are now considered the favorite to win it all so past contracts and speculation about these decisions etc idk I’m just not thinking about things like that let alone thinking someone owes something etc etc none of that really matters especially right now in the playoffs I’m just excited about these players playing together settling into these roles improving and excited that the org has put the team in this position with their moves even if there may have been individual mistakes along the way or it wasn’t always smooth or whatever who cares. It’s just So great to see a team like this it’s been a while and as for kcp he’s just a piece of this puzzle that’s been sorta underrated by fans and now he’s in a position to perform on an increasingly larger stage, as he’s never been this deep in the playoffs. Let’s go I’m pumped about a bunch of the guys we got and what they can bring and kcp is certainly one of them
Welcome here by the way for this last 8 wins push for the ring. You should have been here the 6 months following Magic leaving and what we heard daily from a certain point of view of “one”, pretty much 180 degrees opposed to your liking along with most of our liking of the roster that Rob put together after Kawhi strung us along and intentionally screwed us, so that “plan B” had to be executed. Then that went over to LG and continued and found a few more who agreed about Rob sucking at his job and botching who we brought in to fill the team out after first finishing on the AD trade.
And the Bald Eagle ought to be able to make him work as well. At the very least. Just as likely he’s going to continue to amaze us with how good he’s really gotten on defense. I said in that Houston close out game he seems to be getting even quicker laterally. Murray is an elite scorer for sure but Lakers are playing amazing team and individual defense.
