^ Which is why he needs to be in a situation where he can start. He certainly has the talent. In the 13 games he's started in this year he put up 14/8/2. Last year with a smaller sample he put up 19/10/2.
Yep. Even if he does come off the bench, he'd be like Odom where he gets 30 mpg. Gibson isn't the greatest offensive player or anything, but his defense is good.
I like Taj a lot. Solid player. That said I don't see where we have much room for him or his contract.
I like his a lot. But between his pricey contract and him making us a lot better right now I don't think now is a great time to try and make this trade
Wow. I'm actually surprised he's available. He would be an EXCELLENT pick up for us. 2-way player (he has a nice mid range game and put up close to 20/10 when he started last year), gritty, and doesn't back down to anybody. If we can throw them Jordan Hill for Taj, I'm all for it.
No thank you. Taj is a piece you get when you're one player away from the playoffs or from outright contention. He's not a building block. We don't need 8 million tied up in him.
it would depend on the price for me. 8 million going to a useful player is ok by me. the issue is that the only guy I really want to clear minutes for plays the same position. if it was anyone but a pf, I'd gladly tie up 8 million in a player who a) was relatively young and b) good.
It would depend on the player to me and Taj isn't that player. Isaiah Thomas? Eh yeah maybe. He plays at a position where we have almost no production and no real fit right now. I consider Clarkson more of a SG anyway. Like you said Taj plays PF where we have Black, Davis, and even Kelly not to mention Randle when he comes back next season. It's just not a good fit.
yeah, I mistyped, I think. I agree. though I could be persuaded that Gibson is still an asset, even when redundant. the lakers are WAY short on those.
Yeah I agree with that. I just would rather find other assets that don't cost us anything and especially don't potentially win us any more games.
